Then another voice, female, unfamiliar—warm as honey, cold as knives.
“Let them,” it said. “I want the ashbound to come running.”
The reflection vanished.
I went cold. “That voice…”
Vesper’s expression sharpened. “Covenant elder.”
Selah’s smile returned, proud. “Now you’re speaking my language.”
The cracks widened.
