I coughed in shock as I felt the poison hitting my heart. Clanching my chest, I looked up and saw her victoriously standing in the middle of the arena. Taking deep breaths, I momentarily closed my eyes, calling my inner wolf to fasten our adopting skills. Though Morana’s body wasn’t built as strong and adaptable as an Alpha, she was a warrior and a gamma before she became a Luna. Her body was strong enough to withhold the wolfsbane in her veins. ‘’Bree,’’ I whispered. She raised her head from the book and closed it shut as soon as she saw me. ‘’Heyy,’’ she said, tossing the book to the floor where a pile of other books was slowly building.
