“Mom! You scared me!” “Surprise!” She said again, gesturing to look behind me. I turned around and I was indeed surprised. On the dining table was a cake with pink and white icing, with the numbers one and eight standing on it. “Cake?” I walked closer. I had never had such a big cake to celebrate my birthday. “What's an eighteenth birthday without a cake?” Dave asked with a smile. As I got closer to the table, Mom and Dave started singing. “Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Leah, happy birthday to you!”
