When I couldn't find her, I realized there was one place I hadn't checked yet—one place I dreaded going.
Slowly, I pushed open the door to my mother's coven, a place where she prepared her charms and performed her spells. It was creepy, yet strangely beautiful, adorned with various lights, each color holding significance according to my mother's teachings.
Candles of different hues were arranged in a circular formation on a table, with a stainless plate containing ashes at the center. I sighed, feeling uneasy.
In one corner, I noticed a container housing a lizard. My stomach churned at the sight, but I brushed off the discomfort, focusing on my mission to inform my mother of my plans.
