The Mother who Fed the Dark

The Mother who Fed the Dark

“Nothing lives under dirt and wood.” The youngest slid off her mat and knelt, ear pressed to the floor. She smiled faintly. “It’s been awake for a long time,” she said. “It was just waiting for Mama to stop screaming.” The floor shuddered. A low thump echoed upward, slow and deliberate — a heartbeat too deep to belong to any living thing. Dust drifted from the rafters. The fire dimmed, shrinking as if starved. The eldest staggered back. “What did she do?” he shouted, not sure who he was asking.

The Price of Lies

The Price of Lies

A few passersby saw what happened. They started pointing fingers at us. Mary had never felt so insulted in her entire life. She crawled over to grab John’s pants. “John, how can you do this?” John and Gabby were frightened. When John saw that it was an unfashionable old lady with her face covered in blood, he just kicked her impatiently. “Who is this old hag? How dare you touch me? I’m going to chop your hand off!” Mary fell to the floor in fright. She suddenly pressed her hand against her chest in pain.

Mother-in-Law's Madness

Mother-in-Law's Madness

I looked at the car plate number in the image, and its car plate number was the same as the one in my memory. I remembered. And here I was thinking why it looked so familiar. It was Hans and his family. When I finally reached home, I didn't care about anything and quickly made my way to Hans' home. I kept on feeling that if I was a little slower, something bad was going to happen and it was not a result I could accept. And that was the truth. I kept on banging on the door with as much strength as I could muster. The sounds attracted the neighbors nearby and they all came to ask me what was happening. I cried as I answered, "My mother-in-law sold Cara to Hans!"

My Fair Lady|FAIRVERSE BOOK ~ I|

My Fair Lady|FAIRVERSE BOOK ~ I|

She looked every bit the Queen she was, shining in a royal halo, making the entire magnificent room look rather bleak under her noble radiance. "Welcome Your Highnesses. It is truly an honour for me, as you have decided to grace my humble abode." The Queen Dowager smiled warmly, looking as if she had turn over a completely new leaf. "I couldn't be more pleased." What is this? How did Mother Gothel become Mother Teresa!? "It is but my honor to have the privilege to visit you, Queen Mother." Reuben in turn replied in an indulgent tone. What really is going on here!? How did the prodigal son become the filial son!?

MAFIA'S ANGEL

MAFIA'S ANGEL

The old lady stared at me and then looked at the woman. "Are you Danzel?" she asked me. "Yes, I am," I replied. "You are her Danzel?" she asked again. I took a deep breath and spoke. "I am. Tell me where she is, please." The desperate tone in my voice didn't go unnoticed by either of them. The old lady's eyes immediately brimmed with tears. She cried softly, as though guilty of something. "Who are you?" I asked them. "I am... I am Ace's mother."

Captivating The Brutish Billionaire

Captivating The Brutish Billionaire

“I cannot accept this! I refuse to accept this! That old hag cannot give all of her riches to Gunther alone! How about Clermont?” “How about Romano and Corinth?” She pointed to the old couple seated on the other side of the large couch. The old man resembled Gunther's father a bit, and I almost pointed the gun in their direction. I had barely snapped out of it when Gunther's mother resumed her nonsensical outbursts. “How about Serres and Kallithea?” She then pointed at the two beautiful women seated next to the old couple, who looked identical in every way except their hair.

Bad Girl Reborn

Bad Girl Reborn

Her features were grotesquely twisted, giving her the appearance of a ghoul. Mitbahl slapped a hand over his mouth to stifle another scream. Jackson composed himself, masking his shock, and spoke slowly. "Excuse me, ma'am, we're looking for the Hag. Do you know where we might find her?" The old woman, her eyes clouded with age, glanced over the group before her gaze settled on John. "What do you want with her?" she croaked, her voice raspy like an old, broken bellows. Ivana, startled by the sound, instinctively grabbed Mitbahl's arm.

Beyond the Divorce

I couldn't resist laughing at her expression and thought, ‘This is perfect—I'm going to have some fun with this old lady! Atlas's thin lips were squeezed together, a little twist forming when he noticed my mood. "Who is this old lady...?" I deliberately turned to Celine and asked. Celine looked at me arrogantly. "This is my mother, Atlas's grandmother!" I didn't expect Celine to play along with me. She introduced her appropriately. "Oh! Hello, Grandma Cross!" I started, but then abruptly stopped.

It was a good book. A lot of the mixup/changes in names/locations was very annoying. Wish we would have gotten a little more out of the ending of one of the main villains. Chapters also needed to be longer; a lot of money spent on this book for 5-6 pages per chapter.

I loved this book. I liked all the characters and their interactions. Loved Atlas & Chloe together. Parts of the book are very suspenseful and made it hard to put down. Liked that she was a mom and a business owner. She was strong and intelligent. Hated that the book was over. Highly recommend.

The Rejected Delta’s Secret pups

The Rejected Delta’s Secret pups

Still my heartache was ten times worse than when Kevin had cheated on me. Sometimes later mum came with someone. "I don't want to see anyone," I told mum as they entered my room. "You have no say in the matter." An elderly voice said from over my shoulder. I turned to see the most notorious member of the Zeta elders. Agatha but most called her The Crone. In her mouth was a lit cigarette. "Come on, get up." Her tone gave no room for argument. Mum left us and silence reigned for a few minutes as she blew puff after puff of burning tobacco.

Steamy Fairytales Collection: An 18+ Dark Fairytales Series

Gretel was enjoying this so much as she grimaced. "And there's that teeth. Looks like a fucked up shredder." Mother added. "Exactly! So old Man Dirkman claims she walks into the house this morning smelling like sin and yours truly, Hansel. I mean how bizarre is that?! Can you believe the old creep?" Gretel laughed. Mother laughed. I forced a laugh. "That's got to be top of the list of crazy things the old man has done. Completely bunkers, the old fool." Gretel said gesturing just how crazy the old man was.
