I don't know how my mother does it but Rue suddenly starts crying in her arms .Her tiny body convulses and her shoulders shake as she sobs loudly . I stand awkwardly watching the sad scene unfold in front of me . I don't know how to react so I just watch mum rubbing her back soothingly.

Mother sat in the living room, her back to me, a fragile figurine sculpted from sorrow. "Mom?" I called out, his voice rough with a torrent of emotions. She turned her face a map of tear tracks, eyes red-rimmed and raw. Relief and anguish warred within me as I rushed to her side, enveloping her in a hug that spoke of unspoken promises and fierce protectiveness.

Silence lingered with the slowly moving time. The cramps in my stomach kept getting worse as I spoke those words. Mother broke into sobs as she flopped on the bed, covering her mouth with her hand. I kneeled on the floor beside the bed and held her hands in mine. “I cherish a memory and I’ll keep cherishing it until the very end, mother. Your lullaby and the gentle warmth of your hands when they stroked my hair in the hospital. Even though I was badly hurt, I don’t remember the pain in that memory. It’s just your warmth that still lives on in that memory and trust me, mother… this one memory is… enough to make my entire childhood worth remembering…”
