“Maybe he's out training his wolf.“ “Training his—” Suddenly, the sitting room door opened and closed, and a beautiful-looking Draven started walking to the dining room from there, his gaze focused on the ground. He had a change of clothes, wearing a white shirt and thick black trousers. He didn't look like Royalty dressed like that—but the perfectly-sculpted demi-god that he was. When Draven finally looked up, our eyes locked. I saw him freeze at that instant, his gaze travelling from my head-to-toe—but not in a lustful way. His eyes darkened, and he continued walking towards us.

"I'm surely not found in books. Thanks for the compliment." Alpha Draven nodded plainly. "So what's this? Are you trying to stop me from attacking your mate?" Arya's gaze dropped— now serious. "Sure looks like it." Alpha Draven smirked. "Have you read about me? I'm kinda famous in most books." Arya scoffed. "Yeah Draven Tenebris, the most powerful Alpha on earth, bla bla bla. Should I be scared?" Alpha Draven smirked— deadly. "You should be."

"Yvie!" I frowned and shook him off, snapping coolly, "Please watch yourself, Mr. Grant. If you came to apologize for Susie Grant, then you don't have to—I'm not interested." My coldness stung him, but he smiled wryly. "No, I didn't come for her." Then, taking a deep breath as if to steel himself, he looked at me with his bloodshot eyes as he said, "I came to apologize about what I'd done in our past lives. I know you reincarnated too, Yvie."

Lira (POV) From my altar of chains and rot, I can see him. Draven looks like a king carved from the pages of some fever-dream fairytale—a black leather jacket wrapped tight over a crimson silk shirt and silver buckles gleaming under torchlight. His honey-brown hair is still damp, slicked back from either snow or bathwater. Clean. Impossibly clean. The kind of clean that makes the blood dried under my nails feel louder. He looks almost innocent—like he didn’t order the flaying on me last week.

Only a few lanterns were lit, casting dim golden light across the tables. Draven sat alone at the far end of th empty library. From the outside, he looked calm—leaning back in his chair, one arm resting lazily on an open book as if he were studying. But his sharp silver eyes were not on the book. They were scanning the shelves. One by one, he pulled out old scrolls, pretending to skim them while his mind worked fast. Every title spoke of wars, sealed powers, nothing special or linking to what he wanted. There is something rotten in this place, he thought, but he is yet go figureit out.

People scream and scurry away in fear, they are right to fear me, I am too angry to show mercy right now. I remember reading a book when I was a girl, all about dragon lore and the special things they could do, so I lift my right paw and bite into my finger/toe to draw blood, then lower it to Drake. I let a few drops fall onto his chest and then one into his mouth, before sealing my wound and returning my attention to those around us. These tiny things are all my enemies they all are trying to take Drake away from me! “RAARR!! Grrrrr!!”

Penny held up a small, leather-bound book, its pages filled with ancient runes and cryptic symbols. “This book holds the key, the potential cure for Draven’s curse. It’s an old, forgotten remedy, passed down through generations of healers, a secret whispered in the shadows of the forest.” The room buzzed with excitement and anticipation. They had found a glimmer of hope, a chance to save Draven, to bring him back from the brink of madness. A chance to bring back their beloved Alpha, their leader, their friend.

The girl practically sprinted away. “Thank you,” Zeda said, smiling at him. She wasn’t usually a fan of bullying, but right now, she didn’t care. “It’s nothing. You looked a little lost in this wilderness,” Draven said, picking up a book half-heartedly and dropping it back on the shelf. “Yeah, my first time here,” Zeda admitted. “Tell me about it,” Draven chuckled. Zeda wasn’t surprised. Draven didn’t strike her as a book person, especially with Vyr and Rylan as his friends.

Ronan laughed harshly. “You think she wants you instead?” Draven didn’t answer immediately. His gaze shifted briefly to me. And for one fragile second, everything else disappeared. My fear disappeared. Then his eyes returned to Ronan. And the temperature in the room seemed to drop another ten degrees. “You have three seconds,” Draven said quietly. Ronan grinned. “Or what?” Draven smiled then. A cold, lethal smile that made even Ronan’s men tense in fear. “Or I remind you why monsters should stay buried.”

Chapter 28: Blood and Curse Draven came back hours later. I had barely touched the food. My stomach was too twisted with fear and disgust. I sat on the edge of the bed, still completely naked, arms wrapped around my round belly as if I could protect it from him. My heavy breasts rested on my forearms. My thick thighs pressed tightly together. Every part of me ached from how roughly he had used me earlier. The door slammed open. Draven stepped inside, his massive crimson-scaled body filling the room. His red eyes locked onto me immediately. He looked even more terrifying in the dim torchlight.
