I took the wine that was in the bar and sat on the bar chair, thinking about what had happened in the morning. "If I wasn't destined to be the Alpha! Will this happen to me? How will I be able to retain my position if I am like this? How will I be able to retain my position if I am cursed not to see my mate?" I asked myself while pouring the glass cup inside my bottle. I didn't know what was wrong with me. I was just coming from the witch my mom took me to, she told me that I was cursed and that there was no way that I would be able to find out who my mate was.

"You're right. Maybe I am overreacting." As we spoke, Jess suddenly noticed David was no longer beside her. "Where's David? Did you see where he went?" she asked, glancing around in panic. My eyes darted to the open door behind her, a sinking suspicion already forming. "Did he go outside?" Before I could finish the thought, a scream pierced through the air from the opposite house. "Didn't you say you were going to cook crabs?" "Yup." He walked past me and opened the fridge door. "Didn't you see them in the bucket?" He pulled out a blue bucket and set it on the counter. Still shirtless. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to concentrate on. His abs, the crabs currently fighting for their lives, or the buzzing sensation of my lips as they recalled his mouth in painful detail. "Shouldn't you put on a shirt?" I blurted. "Don't want the crab to turn into some sort of nipple clamp. It may ruin your night." I pulled a barstool out.

A freak accident that left me completely alone in the world. But now, I couldn’t help but wonder. Were they werewolves too? Had they known this would happen to me? Alaric said the curse didn’t activate unless you killed someone. If they were werewolves, had they never triggered the curse? Or was it something else entirely? I glanced at the window, where the light of the setting sun was fading, giving way to the night. The full moon was coming. I could feel it—a strange hum at the back of my mind, growing stronger with each passing moment.

" So, Mr. Crab, where do I get water, find a socket to charge my phone…. Forget it " he felt a sudden bout of dizziness and collapsed on the bed asleep. Dead as a log.

"What kind of sudden thing happened to make him do this to me?" Marra gave up, and she moved downstairs while holding her frustration as she approached the main door. "NORTH, ARE YOU CRAZY! WHAT'S THE HOUR IN YOUR HOUSE TOO DAMAGED TO—" Her sentence hung. Marra swallowed. She was petrified, as she had just been cursed.

The negative thoughts corrupted my mind- “Who the fuck is this?” A voice. A calm, anonymous voice filtered through some distorter. “Your wife is safe, Mr. Salvatore. But you need to stop looking for her. Now.” The line went dead.

"Now you’re awakening, and it’s all coming back. The power, the darkness, the curse." Lena felt a pang of dread settle deep in her chest. "What curse?" Adrian’s eyes flickered, as if the question struck too close to something he wasn’t ready to confront. "It’s a long story," he said softly. "But it’s one that we both have to face now. Together."

The last couple of days have been a whirlwind. An exciting new development in my curse-free state is that now makkares can heal me. Sebastian had a brainwave and decided it was worth a try asking a friendly makkari to heal me since I was technically no longer cursed, and it turns out he was correct. All the pain, aches, exhaustion, and those disgusting blisters, are now a thing of the past, which is a great relief to me as it now means I can enjoy all the blessings that surround me.
