I stepped out into the darkness, and made my way towards the old windmill on the outskirts of town. As I approached the windmill, I saw a figure waiting for me in the shadows. It was a woman, dressed in a long cloak, her face hidden behind a mask. "Who are you?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. "I'm someone who wants to help you, Valerie," she replied, her voice low and mysterious. "My name is Julia, and I've been watching you from afar. I know what Marcus is planning, and I know you're in grave danger."

Julia added. To ease her worries, I smile halfheartedly. Hopefully, she won't question anymore. Though it was hidden in her eyes, the shadow of doubt didn't leave her. She's probably thinking about that night again. Julia was an intuitive woman, it's as if she's a witch who can see through people's hearts. Nevertheless, she didn't ask about it. She's very supportive and most of the time acts like a caring mother. We walked to the cafeteria to meet the others. On our way there Mandy blocked the entrance.

I murmur under my breath and then produce the keys to open it. When I hit the button, I hear the telltale sign of it unlocking and then something else from behind me. Beta Julia is standing there, and she has an odd look about her. She rushes up to me and then whispers, “You have to hurry, he saw us together and now he is looking for you. Please, get out of here quickly.”

Then, I leaned back in my chair, folding my hands together. “What are you getting at, Madelyn?” She didn’t falter. If anything, her resolve deepened. Her eyes blazed with an intense fire. “Will Julia be accompanying you?” Her voice rang sharp, demanding, but I caught the flicker in her eyes, the quick flash of vulnerability she wished I hadn’t seen. Whatever it was that Julia had tried to say to me earlier was still lurking around in her eyes. The question wasn’t about wanting to know about my work. Not really. It was about whether I was betraying her. About whether she could trust me after everything that she had seen and suspected.

*** Nikolai’s Pov:- I was sitting in my office, working on the previous dealings between the Italian and Russian mafia when all of a sudden, Penelope barged into my office. “Is everything alright?” I asked while standing up from my chair. She looked tense and panicked. “Julia… Julia,” She uttered while breathing heavily, “What happened?” I asked, rushing towards her. “She’s missing,” She said, “What?” I asked in confusion, “Yes, I’ve searched for her and she is nowhere, Nik,” Pen said with worry in her eyes, “I hope she is okay, God! Not at this moment,” She added while running her fingers through her hair with worry and concern.

Lucia peeped out one more time and saw the mystery man get into a waiting Uber and drove off from the street. If she was a normal person in this city, she would knock it off as something to be ignored but she was the sister of the mafia underboss who was good at getting himself into trouble. And she also escaped three murder attempts already. Everything was suspicious to her now and-- "Are you alright?" Linda's voice caught her unaware from behind and she almost screamed while holding onto her chest. She turned to her with a frightened look and managed to mumble, "Oh, heavens. You scared me"

From the information here, they do not seem to have a personal relationship aside from being related by blood. But still………

Jenkins, the owner of the quaint bookshop where she had spent countless hours browsing through shelves and seeking advice on rare books. "Mrs. Jenkins?" Emma's voice trembled with confusion and a hint of betrayal. "But why? You're...you're the one who's been helping us." Mrs. Jenkins' smile grew wider, her eyes glinting with a sinister light. He ignored his glass and opened the folder instead. “Victor murdered my mother,” Julian began, voice low and edged with old pain. “He poisoned her over months when she discovered he was stealing from the company. When my father started investigating, Victor killed him too — staged it as a heart attack. And the young housemaid who witnessed part of it? He had her thrown from the yacht during a private cruise. Body never recovered.”
