As I swung open the door I nearly collapsed in the effort feeling utterly exhausted. “I see you made it sister. Where’s Athena?” My brother’s question may seem odd to those around him. The concern in his voice is almost giving him away to those around him but I knew the truth. “We were almost detained on the border. We had to fight our way out. Needless to say I succeeded and she did not.” “Very well.” My brother’s voice holding back unsaid hurt as clutched the female vampire closer to his side. My brother may feel something for Athena but he was an evil man who would cast her aside for his own benefit.
