CHAPTER SEVEN Part of Aleta’s favorite red hoodie turned up in some bramble outside of the city. It was cut, shredded, and stained. Animals had been gnawing and tearing at it, pulling it apart thread by thread by thread with their canines and incisors and grinding molars. From what they recovered of Aleta’s body, she had also been gnawed and ripped, but the animals pulling her apart had been a different sort. Angry Marie made a decision, then, and the impact of that decision would way heavy in her soul for the rest of her life. But seeing as her soul was pretty much tattered beyond recognition anyway, it didn’t seem like that much of a leap.

Lucas stumbled and clutched his side, his face contorted in agony. Before he could collapse, I grabbed him. "You're okay," I murmured, trembling. "You're okay." His hold on my arm was firm yet weak, and his breathing was labored. He coughed and said, "Anna, it's...it's just a wound."

Scarlett's tone was stiff, and there was a hint of barely concealed resentment in her eyes. A chilling thought suddenly crossed my mind. But before I could voice it, I needed to verify something. Frowning, Aidan started taking passive-aggressive swipes at me.

The other soldier continued and handed Amura a piece of wood that was red with blood. While Amura was looking at the wood, suddenly 2 people came into the tent casually. "Yosha, what's going on?" Yusagi the shield hero waved and walked over to Amura. "Shit! Turns out there's only forest around here, are you sure this continent is inhabited?" Kawa the arc hero cursed then sat down and crossed his legs haughtily. "You guys look at this!" Amura gave the wood to the two heroes. "What's this!?" Yusagi looked at the wood carefully.

There was another voice within her voice when she spoke. “ The one you seek is close by but you have to hurry because as each day passes she gets closer to her destiny. You have to get her before she finds her mate. You will recognise her by her hair. It is red in colour and glows when she uses her powers” said Ayan. She opened her hands, she was holding a white pearl. “ This will help you to identify her quickly. It will glow in her presence” said Ayan as Kasha came forward to collect it.
