WILLOW Today is regionals. Northwestern University’s hockey team is facing off against California’s Omega hockey team. It’s a freaking bloodbath out there on the ice rink. Both teams are already an hour into the game and after three solid intermission periods, the Omegas are in the lead.

I was to begin work as one of the Coaches to the Hockey Team by Monday and today was Saturday, so I had two days to settle in. Came Monday and I was excited to put my little training into work. The head Coach, Mrs. Hatfield was supposed to introduce me to the other players. They were all Alphas in rank. I also heard that we recruited new players, which I hoped Damian wasn't among, even though he was Alpha. Thankfully, he wasn't; rather, it was someone worse who got accepted, but how? 'He didn't even have an interest in playing Hockey. Yes, he had the Alpha rank but Damian claimed to be more Dominant.' I thought in disbelief, wishing the ground would open up and swallow me as our eyes met.

The windows are down, the wind is blowing in my hair and I’m not sure I could be any happier than I am in this moment with my mate and brother beside me, loving life. The time flies and before I’m ready for it to end, we arrive at Canyon Ridge. Uncle Rik and Aunt Cara are there to greet us, as are Cohen and Clint. We get out and greet everyone before heading inside to join the festivities. It’s time for the third and final Alpha in our tight group to take over as Alpha of his pack. Unknown POV – One week earlier “This is a really bad idea.” The witch says. “That’s not for you to decide.” She snaps.

He just wanted to get me. “Oh… I forgot,” he whispered. “It was because someone couldn’t control their temper.” He said, tapping his temple dramatically. “That damn temper.” My jaw tightened. I straightened up as I held the net tighter. “Can you stop?” I asked, forcing the words through my teeth. Sky flung his stick over his neck with a small smile on his face, totally ignoring my warning. “Come to think of it, nothing beats picking pucks with an Alpha. Don’t you think?!”

I tell him. I hang up. Get in the car. Start the engine. Drive off into the snowy night. --- Music hits before I even step into the VIP section. Richard grins, one arm slung casually around the girl beside him. “There he is…Clinton Blunt!” Two familiar figures lean against the bar, drinks in hand…Zack and Cody, defensemen from the Woodblock City High hockey team, both already wrapped around girls who definitely aren’t their girlfriends. And then I notice them.

Again. Holden was the star captain of our varsity ice hockey team, the untouchable campus god, and my next door neighbor since we were toddlers. He was also an absolute monster. For the past year, he had made it his personal, daily mission to make my life a living hell.

the dark-haired boy said. Suddenly, all of them were throwing insults at me, seeming to get closer and closer. Just then, the doors to the stadium swung open, and a tall figure with ruffled dark hair and piercing blue eyes stepped inside. His presence alone shut everyone up as all attention shifted towards him, including mine. Even though I had only been here for two months, I had heard of him countless times. It was Lucas, one of the few Alphas in our school. The captain of the ice hockey team and the notorious playboy of the school.

I said, picking up my bag. A little while later, Alpha Heath was greeting us at his gate. While I had been his neighbor my entire life, I’d only met him a few times and briefly, we hadn’t been on the best terms. He had serious contempt for my dad but I sincerely hoped to show him I was not my father. “Howdy neighbor,” he said, shaking my hand. “I hope to be again, very soon so we can all go back to normal,” I said.

"I'll parade you around until I get sick of it. I hope Drexel finds out exactly what's being done to you here. I hope he feels the pain deep in his soul. I will break you, and that in turn will break him." I turn my head to meet his gaze. He smiles eerily. Then, he forces me to turn back to the group of people he was with. It takes me a long time to realize that these people all form a part of his hockey team. I've seen them before. Of course, I don't know anyone's name, but they all play ice hockey, alright. And right now, their looks are saturated with bad intentions. "She's a pretty one, Alpha," one of them remarks. I have no idea who he is. "Maybe we can have some fun with her."
