I loved the frustration written all over her face. Bad Luna! After class, I headed for werewolf class, Merida and Jason didn't come, It was just Lyall, Crescent and I. Lyall couldn't take the tension he felt amidst us, he excused himself after a few minutes. God kill me! He was staring right at me. "Gamma talked about an hidden library, wanna check it out?" He asked. "Yeah" I replied. We walked into a corner, this school has so many hidden places. We saw a shelf that had books on it, but it was just normal human books, we were looking for spell books, magical books or history books.

“It’s for your legs.” “And that one?” “Your arms,” Leina said patiently, though her lips twitched. “And that?” “Abs.” I pursed my lips, cheeks warming. “So… it’s just torture machines. Fancy ones.” They burst into laughter. “Not torture,” Liya said between giggles. “Training. But maybe we’ll teach you one day. If Mr. Kaine lets us.” Her eyes glimmered mischievously. Their laughter followed us into the cinema room, the conservatory with plants taller than me, and finally the library. I stopped breathing there, staring at rows and rows of books—old and new, leather-bound and glossy, their spines like soldiers waiting for command.

I would gladly take the pain and injury from her so that she can get better and give us the information we need to keep us safe from anything that may be headed our way. The library is on the common floor, there are 4 rooms there, the biggest being the common room. It’s got TV’s, gaming systems of all kinds, multiple computers and pool tables, even a foosball table that my brother has always lost to me on. (He says he lets me win… I think not)

I flipped through the channels, one after another. Nothing held my interest. The shows were loud and meaningless. The laughter felt hollow. I kept changing channels, hoping something would catch my attention. It didn’t. After a while, I sighed and turned the television off. I sat there for a moment, staring at the blank screen. I felt restless. My body wanted movement. My mind wanted distraction. Then an idea came to me. The library. Lucien had said that it held many old books about pack history, laws and traditions. I realized that I knew very little. Everything I understood came from Lucien or Isolde. Maybe it was time to learn something on my own.

Compared to that, this library is smaller with fewer books. Back in my pack, there’s data on lots of special wolves. Mom and dad made sure that there’s information for everyone to find. Dad used to tell me. “Knowledge is power.” This library lacks it. It’s strange since the packhouse library should have the most data stored here. If the information I’m looking for is not here then I won’t find it anywhere else. It’s like someone erased them from history on purpose. I rub my temples in frustration, trying to shake the fog of disappointment settling in my head. That’s when my phone buzzes.
