My Library Audible Novels & Stories

The sound of water gently lapping against the shelves provided a soothing ambiance, creating a serene atmosphere that encouraged deep contemplation and study. As they ventured deeper into the library, Tritan, Finrir, Nerissa, Madissa, Bryan, and Joe found themselves surrounded by rows upon rows of books. The sheer volume of knowledge contained within those pages was awe-inspiring. Each book seemed to hold the answers to countless mysteries, waiting to be discovered by those who sought enlightenment.

The smell of old book, dust and fresh ink wafted through the air of the library, the golden hue of the almost setting sun gave the library a mystical look as Ur streamed in fromge windows. The library was quiet safe for the shuffling of books here and there, a few reading groups and soft chatters. Mr Fernandez led me further in and stopped in front of some shelf cluster. “So…what do you read?” He asked, tucking his hands in his pocket. “Normally, I'd go for business or history but I'm feeling a bit in line for anything” he nodded and looked around. “Why don't you find something you like and I'll do the same…then we'll talk about why we like those books, is that okay?” He asked nervously and

“I’ve gotta go. You’re not my only client, you know.” “Try not to let that hurt my feelings,” Aurora said dryly. He smirked, already turning away. “Later.” He disappeared down the aisle without another word. Aurora waited. She counted to sixty in her head. Then another thirty for good measure. Only then did she pull a random book from the shelf, it was thick and heavy, something about the French Revolution she had no intention of reading, and carried it to the counter. The librarian scanned it, stamped the return date, and slid it across.

Dina was in shock at the sight before her. Within the audio app were various tabs including, podcasts, music, audiobooks, soundscapes, ASMR recordings, and various others which on being clicked led one to a whole different area. The music tab had a search tab for finding music by artists or song names, another for searching fandoms and a forum specially made for music lovers. Other tabs followed pretty much the same format and finally was the special forum made for communication of the entire audio community. A shaky Dina looked over to Zero with sparkling eyes who nodded and without hesitation, she tapped and was thrown into a whole new world.

We were unable to peer inside the building, although from the exterior it appeared to be in perfect condition. "The library is located here. It has five stories that are descending. It houses 20 million books and artifacts in nearly every language and format on 532 miles of bookshelves, antique woodblock prints, compact disks, and modern storage devices." "Wow!" Avi exclaimed as she entered the library first. Isabel was on my side the entire time. What I see before me here is nothing short of astounding. It seems as though they want me to acknowledge that my future has already been decided for me.

Our phones were almost useless. Ever since I gained the mind-link ability, I barely knew where my phone was, unless there was something that I needed to research on or a book that I needed to read from my favorite author. Which was why I decided to come to the library this afternoon. Theo had said that it contained almost everything one might want, and with its gigantic structure, that was to be expected. “Where could it be?” I muttered as I searched along the fiction section. “It has to be here somehow.”

ISLA'S POV Wednesday. 9:47 AM. The second floor of the Astoria Public Library smells like industrial lemon disinfectant fighting a losing war against the scent of decaying paperbacks. I find a computer bank near the back, tucked away from the children's section where a toddler is currently screaming. I plug in my headphones—cheap, wired earbuds I bought at the bodega for $3.99 because my wireless ones died and I can't afford the electricity to charge them, let alone a replacement.

I wish I had enough money for a phone and cordless headphones because it would be nice to fill some of this time with audio books. Maddie and I visit the public library every single Saturday morning. We check out the maximum number of books that we’re allowed, and we finish most of them before the next visit. We are both speed readers and enjoy learning as much as we can on almost any subject. But I can’t read on the job, so despite the library having free books on audio, most of my day is spent in silence.
