He thought, after losing her memory, she might have developed an interest in reading books. He took a book out of his bag and passed it to her. Lisa’s eyes widened to see the book. He actually gave her a journal of physics. She thought he would give her a magazine or at least a novel. She looked at the journal dumbly, and then her eyes moved to Carl Black, only to meet his curious gaze.

Stood outside of the large grey LAPD building and taking in the fresh air, staring at nothing in particular. The damp air inside the building was making me nauseous. How do the cops survive in there? She looked young, maybe she's just here with her parents, looking down at the book she had in her hands it was a kids story. Does she read for the local kids? Or is it just for her?

I pulled out each book slightly, hoping like my library one of them would reveal some secret compartment. I stopped as one book caught my attention. It didn’t feel solid like the other books. It was too light. “Penn, I think I’ve got something.” I pulled it out. It was a black book with no title. I opened it to discover it was a hollow book. A velvet box, slightly smaller than the book, was hidden inside of it. I opened the box and smiled.
