The fog in his dark eyes slowly began to clear, his gaze wandering unfocused across the ceiling before finally landing on the broken plastic legs of the toy tarantula on the floor.
The medics checked his pulse, their expressions gradually softening. “His heart rate is stabilizing. The panic loop is breaking. Keep the mask on for five more minutes, Mr. Blackwood.”
