⤝⧫⤞ I walk out into the infirmary with Kye’s shirt on, buttoning it up I run towards the nearest doctor, “Please tell me that he is okay!” The doctor looks at me with a sad look before he leads me towards a room. Kye is hooked up to an oxygen machine and a couple of bags replacing his tainted blood with that of another.

"She is not breathing. Lila, get the emergency oxygen tank from the hallway closet. Now!" I did not waste a single breath replying. I turned on my heel and sprinted back inside, my chest heaving as I ripped open the medical storage closet near the garden entrance. My hands clamped around the portable green cylinder and the small plastic mask, and I bolted back out to the lawn, dropping heavily onto the grass beside them. "Here," I gasped, my fingers shaking as I checked the valve, turning the dial until the soft hiss of oxygen filled the air. I pressed the mask firmly over Mia’s tiny nose and mouth. "Hold her head up, Damian. Keep her airway clear."

A blood pressure monitor appears from somewhere, and a pulse oximeter. “Make room!” somebody calls in a voice so loud and gruff, it makes Clare and I jump. Which I’m sure is also great for Tara, who’s being given oxygen through a little bottle with a mask on it. The source of the voice backs into the room, carrying something with another person. Something is Owen.

I don’t know how that made me happy, and neither do I know how it also gave me strength, because immediately after the smirk, I could feel my bones becoming stronger, what if I and Jeremy have super connection, I mean, he’s old, but it’s a connection nonetheless. “The medicine has worn off by now” said Alex as he stares at his watch and then at his father in a hopeful state. “You can get up now cant you Charlie?” I didn’t even waste time I immediately stand as fast as I can. “Someone is so eager to go home huh?” I look at Diana, the smirk on her face, even annoys me. “Yeah thank you everyone” I say with sarcasm dripping from my mouth. The next morning, Kiki opened her eyes and recognized the surroundings of a hospital. She took a deep breath and the cold rush of pure oxygen filled her lungs, but it hurt. Yes, she was wearing an oxygen mask. She took shallow breaths instead. She felt groggy and the pounding in her head wouldn't stop, so she closed her eyes.

“We are sorry for causing you fear and panic. He is very much okay, and the oxygen is not contaminated. I wonder where you heard that from.” Mateo turned to me, making everyone look at me suspiciously. “I got a tip that the new oxygen that was delivered was contaminated. That is why I said so,” I said slowly. “There is no such thing. Every delivery passes through a process before being used. This particular one used for him was taken from the old deliveries. We still have a few left in the store,” the doctor explained. “And about the new deliveries, I will see to it that they are properly checked.”

He added and my heart melted. "I can only be happy when you are." I replied honestly. His eyes shined as he looked at me. "Baby, with you in my arms, how could I be anything but overjoyed?" He answered. He held me tight as we watched our children play on the lawn, with our pack working and relaxing around them. He looked down at me with eyes filled with pure love. "I'm so lucky to have been blessed with you. I may be an Alpha but I would be nothing without my true Omega."

I broke the proximity when Owen, the nanny, came into the kitchen. "I'll have a glass of bourbon neat and extra ice." I instructed her, turning to Jace I smiled, "I've missed sunbathing. I'll just relax and have the time of my life." Owen started towards the kitchen door and my smile dropped. Jace must've caught my displeasure that's why he asked, "Where are you going?" Owen stopped in her tracks and regarded him with slightly rosy cheeks, "Lex's being fussy, I'll get someone else to get Ma'am the drink and ice while I make Lex's formula."
