Novelas y relatos de My Sister's Duty

Sister Mary would carry a huge roster book to call and call out their names and the duties assigned to each of them. She would make sure that everyone had left their sleeping chamber. Should anyone happened to be still asleep when everyone had already woken up, such individual would face the serious consequences. A long whip would land between their shoulders and they would regret they ever slumbered when duty called. There were still those who would cry when they were called to cut their sleep short at such early hours. There was nothing they could do except to follow the orders. Sister Mary meant business and she had no time for sluggards as he would say.

I shake my head slightly, wishing she were here now that I am the queen so I could show her who was a weirdo. “I found it interesting that she applied,” Trinity continues with a sigh as she flips through the other profiles, frowning. “The sisters in that family hate each other and are in constant competition. My guess is that she applied to snub the sister who was in the running for Luna Queen, not because she has no other options.” I look down at the smug smile on the profile, those amber eyes alight with righteous pride. I kind of like the girl already just for that. “What exactly would her duties be? Outside of following me around, fixing my hair…” I sigh heavily, leaning back in my chair

Then finally, he said: “I have a task for you.” “Wha... what could it be?” I asked, already bracing for something terrible. Carter smirked. “I want you to take care of my little sister in the hospital this evening.” Wait, what?

"I've never seen him behave like that with any of us." Freya shrugged. "Fine then. Even if he has fallen in love with her, he isn't worth your tears." She wiped away my tears. "We are surrogates, our duty is only to pump out a child for him, get our money and leave." Pump out a child. Just like that? But then again, my sister had always been the practical one while I was the emotionally unstable crazy one. Freya was my older sister and she had taught me everything that I knew. She was kind, brave self-sacrificing.

“We need someone to save her life. The doctor said she can't survive with the heart anymore so we need someone to donate their heart. You're the only one available for now.” My face darkened. I immediately slapped her hand off my shoulders as I frowned. “Mum, I've had a really rough night already, this isn't the time for pranks. What do you mean? Stop playing with me, Mum. Is that how much you hate me?”. "Darling, listen to me. You need to save your sister's life. It's necessary and it's your responsibility as the older one to make sacrifices for your little sister. She has a bright future ahead of her and a destiny and purpose to fulfill.”.

He would never do something so lacking in boundaries. Rose had pulled the exact same stunt before. Back then, when she had fallen softly into Leon’s arms, I screamed and questioned them. I couldn’t understand it. Why did she have to fall into Leon’s arms over a simple stumble when there were so many werewolves around? Just like now. At that time, Leon had helped her up with obvious concern, carefully adjusting her skirt. He even reminded her gently to avoid wearing such long dresses next time. Leon had nothing but disgust in his eyes when he said, “She’s your sister! Of course I should help her! Rose is so innocent. How could she possibly seduce me?!”

she spat, “His arm is still severed, and what if those bullies return? He needs to be able to protect themselves to make sure that even while am gone he'd never fall victim to such cruel death again” her eyes grew excited the more she spoke. “You've truly lost it. I refuse to be involved in your madness, even if it means fighting you, I will. As your elder sister it's my duty to call you back as you've obviously gone astray.” Zareal's staff appeared, landing on the ground

“You show up, the house comes alive, the kids drive everyone insane, and then you just pull everything away again.” “Fio—” “No, seriously.” Now her voice was calmer. Worse. “I know you work. I know you’re busy. But I’m your sister. They’re my niece and nephew. Sometimes it feels like you show up with one foot still out the door.” The room suddenly felt too bright. Theo stared at his plate. Papá lowered the newspaper completely. Mamá didn’t say a word. Even Delano, who usually couldn’t resist jumping in, stayed quiet.

I add and walk out. My head is killing me. I could crash in my room here, but I would rather drive than stay here. “You know your father loves and cares about you, right?” His sister tells me as I descend the stairs. “The exact same way he cares for all his agents. We make him cool cash. I make him the coolest.” I respond and she grabs my wrist. “You remember what day it is today, right? Was that the reason the mission failed?” She questions. How could I ever forget the one most painful day of every year?
