Could my life be crueler? I lost my mom immediately she brought me into this world. My Dad doesn't even care about me and I had to live like a servant in my own father's house. I nodded looking down. "I came here to say" I uttered some words when I remembered something about her. "How is your mother?" I gulped nervously. "Oh, she is no more" "What? I am so sorry" It's my cue to leave but she patted on my hand, rested on my knee. "She was my step mother, actually, third step mother. I wasn't much close to her." She said. Out of embarrassment I said nothing. "Sorry I forgot your name" She said.

I feel my legs shake as I drag my feet forward, moving around the couch, which is probably not a brilliant choice considering how fearful she looks right now– I should stay away, not draw closer. "Mom…" I start, trying to put words together, but how do I explain to her? What do I even say? Oh, I’m sorry you had to see that.
