It was beautiful but eerie, a colour I’d never seen on myself before. I tried to calm my racing heart, took a few steady breaths, and watched as the green glow dimmed, fading into a deep, forest-green hue that seemed somehow… natural yet unfamiliar. I couldn’t look away, captivated by the sight, but a strange unease settled over me. I searched my memories, trying to recall if either of my parents had green eyes. But no, neither of them did. This colour, this strange flickering, felt like a mystery locked deep within me, something I’d never noticed or known until now.

He had let it slip one or two times about the matter, but I never let it develop into something more than his suggestive phrases. “Though I must admit, don’t you think the girl is a bit unusual despite her beauty?” “Unusual how?” “Her eyes," he said thoughtfully, like he was trying to solve a puzzle. “Dual eye colours are rare among our kind. I wasn’t sure what was happening but my hold on his neck softened a bit and he leaned in closer, opening his eyes. “Are your eyes real?” I blurted. I have always wondered about his eyes when I first saw him. I have seen all kinds of humans eye colors—blue, green, hazel, amber—I’d seen them countless times. But his… no. His were something else…..light Purple or Indigo swirling like smoke caught in sunlight. Something impossible, unearthly, almost wrong in the most exquisite way. Something that looks awfully familiar but I couldn’t place it. “Yes,” he whispered.

“At night, her power rises. Sometimes she even glows.” “Glow?” “It’s a bronze hue that forms all over her body, even her clothes. Sometimes she opens her eyes. And they’re. . .it’s hard to describe. They’re like kaleidoscopes.” “Kaleidoscope eyes?” Maddox sounded skeptical. “And you didn’t eat those mushrooms you found in the forest a few days ago?” “No.” “Hmmm. Go ahead. He might’ve been mistaken for an albino if not for his deep black eyes. Deep was as good a term as Jon could’ve thought up, for the orbs seemed to dwell on and on, like an echo through a dark hallway. They reflected obscure secrets and cryptic answers to which even the questions had been forgotten. Something sinister was in the brain connected to those eyes, something strange and alien. “Come on. Come on,” the ancient said and hustled a little ways away from the others.

Finding a sudden spark of courage, she finally looked up, meeting his intense gaze with her glossy, striking green eyes. "The absence of light," she replied confidently. He smiled slightly, looking away from her to stare back out at the moon. He tilted his head, acknowledging her answer. "Precisely," he murmured. Still wearing that faint, mysterious smile, he took a step back, turned around, and walked silently out of the living room, leaving her completely alone and drowning in confusion. Once again. What is it with him being so incredibly mysterious? Emma whispered to herself in the empty room.

I'm the only one who could see the creature and the others can't. I have finally learned not to behave like I see them because it would cause a fight between us, and to be frank creatures get intimidated when a human sees them. I fight with some of them, and while fighting my parents believe that I'm crazy. The only individual who believes me a little bit is my baby brother. His bloody red hair was somewhat wavy, and some of his hair was covering his left eye.
