Amara POV I’m walking aimlessly, auto pilot taking control and as the only place I know outside of the alpha house grounds is main street in town, that’s where my body takes me. I don’t become aware of my location until a lorry honks its horn at me for walking in the middle of the road. The driver curses at me and raises his fist in anger. He was right, I should be more careful, especially as I do not have a wolf to heal me like the rest.

She tried to keep herself busy, to focus on anything that might distract her, but the thoughts kept coming back, mercilessly tormenting her. She sank down onto the windowsill, hugging herself as her gaze wandered toward the horizon. Outside, the house bustled with activity. Men coming and going, hurried footsteps, voices murmuring in hushed tones. Something was happening. Something serious. Svetlana bit her lower lip. She’d witnessed a crime the day before.
