Never To Be Loved Again

Never To Be Loved Again

Alicia asked, excitedly. “What?” The boy was confused. "I recognize that bird." "Which bird?" "It was Ataraxia!" Ataraxia was a mythical bird that only appeared in myths. The same thing happened in Coulson. They, too, had a mythical bird named Myastra. Myastra was a half-god, half-human who lived between the human and divine realms. It was no different than any other bird in the human world. Because mythical birds were frequently threatened, they would grant the person who saved their lives one wish.

My big bad wolf

My big bad wolf

However, the idea that birds were being used by the darkness to watch her seemed a little far-fetched to Maya's skeptical mind. “That's a bit much, don't you think?” she replies, her expression a mixture of disbelief and discomfort. “Birds following me as spies of darkness? It sounds like something out of a fantasy movie.” Andreza sighs, understanding Maya's difficulty in accepting the dark truth that was beginning to envelop her: "I understand that it may seem hard to believe, Maya, but the supernatural world operates in ways that often defy human logic. These winged beings are not mere animals; they are messengers and spies of forces beyond our comprehension."

Marked by fate

Marked by fate

The detail in those feathers is exquisite, every line sharp and sure. I glance back at the walls. Most of the animals she has up are wolves, which makes sense, I guess. But none of them appeal to me. Nothing I want inked into my skin permanently. I do another slow circuit of the room, scanning for anything I might have missed, but it is the same. The only piece that keeps catching my eye is the bird. Sage must notice, because from my spot by the far wall she says, “It’s a phoenix. The phoenix dies and is reborn from the ashes. It symbolises rebirth, strength and transformation.”

MAD END'S DECEPTION

MAD END'S DECEPTION

“Deactivate the Prisoner Sigil, and I could get us there in minutes.” Her blue eyes narrowed. “That’s the last thing I’d ever do.” She sat down beside the eagle. “We wait until my eagle wakes up.” He dropped onto the parched earth and watched Araheen turn her dagger between her fingers as if admiring its craftsmanship. “Is that a phoenix?” he asked, raising one knee and resting his arm across it. “Yes.” “Humans built a myth around her.” He picked up a few small stones from the cracked ground, turning one idly between his fingers. “A red bird that burned and rose again from its own ashes.”

The Dark Mythical Hybrids

I yelled at her, my heart beating so fast that it would pop out any moment. "You saw?" She asked, chuckling. "What sa- WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT?!!!! HOW?!" "I told ya, you'll develop a potus soon. You could have it since birth only if you weren't a halfling. There are many more powers in you which you have to explore yet, that was not even a bit of your powers." She said, looking at me with unreadable emotional eyes." You're a satangel's daughter Athena, your mother's a complete satangel unlike your second mum, Bethany. And I'm a complete satangel"

Vampire's Slave

Vampire's Slave

—said our father angrily, "This should never have happened. —Of course it shouldn't have happened, just as they would use black magic to bring a vampire back into this world. That's beyond forbidden and those wretches put a dead woman in my partner's body. —Well, at least you consider her part of our family, so your father won't have to go to the council for someone who isn't important. —Mom was worse than Dad was angry. —What do they know about the other girl? —A Phoenix. —According to human mythology, the Phoenix is born from a pure soul that was corrupted, but is mortal to its bearer.

The voice said. "From the Flower's power, the Humanes, Inhumanes, Beast beings, Forest and Water Nymphs, elves, and other races emerged, each with unique characteristics and abilities that reflected the Divine Being's boundless creativity. The skies filled with the songs of celestial birds, their melodies weaving together in harmony with the rustling of leaves and the gentle lapping of waves against the shore. The world trembled with the footsteps of ancient beasts, their roars echoing through the valleys and canyons as they claimed their place in this reborn world."

Estella replied back changing the topic. “Indeed, and they are called birds of heaven. The ones which are red in color. And those, the blue ones, they are always in a pair, and they are called birds of soul.” Valor said explaining Estella about those birds, and continued with a question, “Haven’t you ever seen them, Estella? Or Don’t tell me, you just see the animals which you hunt!!” He raised his eyebrows and earned a hard glare from her side. She punched his forearm softly warning,

The Baron's Cold Proposal

It felt a perfect fit and he had slept every night holding her in that position, nestled together. Felix also taught Athena further on Roman and Greek mythology, including pointing out the different types of nymphs that were sneakily hidden in and amongst the mosaics depicting friendly woodland scenes. These were beings who lived to tease and manipulate humans and gods, sometimes falling in love with them, sometimes chasing them to the ends of the earth to capture the man they wanted.

A wonderful story full of characters you love to love and ĺove to hate. I echo the sentiments around the ending but I'm relieved at the lack if true redemption arc (told you - characters you love to hate!)

Warning ends with a .... cliffhanger with no sequel. Great book overall by a talented author. I recommend it, and the cliffhanger doesn't ruin the book. It honestly do with a round of editing for character names being mixed up. This is one of the author's earlier books and is worth the read!
