She flipped the book toward me, pointing at the page. “It says they were also called Heaven’s Birds because their eyes were blue and their feathers pure white.” My breath caught painfully in my chest. I grabbed her and hugged her hard, laughing and crying at the same time as she twirled us clumsily across the rug as sunlight poured through the window.

And those, the blue ones, they are always in a pair, and they are called birds of soul.” Valor said explaining Estella about those birds, and continued with a question, “Haven’t you ever seen them, Estella?
