Mythological Underworld Novels & Stories

Hi everyone! In the interest of not taking away from the dialogue for excessive world-building, I made an index with the rules of this universe. In terms of Gods/Goddesses, I follow Greek mythology, but I’ve also taken pieces from different folklore and added my own twist. Underworld (There are a few realms/subrealms here, so if there's any confusion, let me know, and I will clear it up). Any being in the underworld is immortal but can be killed by ripping its head off and burning the body. They all wield dark magic but have unique powers.

“She is no longer with us, Lucifer. Venus is gone.” “Venus is gone” The words that echoed. The entire underworld believed it. Koko had no choice telling his lie. At least that's what he told himself. Daniel and Izzy grew in the underworld. They were vibrant children. The underworld was just like any other place. Families that lived and worked in the underworld were just like families living on the topside or in the golden city. You were born; you grew just not ancient, you lived, you loved, you got into trouble; you were heartbroken; you grew to be the people you were supposed to be.

After all, a millennia happens very scarce and some of us are not very lucky to attend the next gathering. This years millennia is very special to the vampires because it is also the year where we pay tribute to the Godesss Persephone, the goddess of the underworld. Contrary to popular belief that it was Hades who run the underworld--it was not true--Hades was her slave and he had no freedom whatsoever and everything that happens in the underworld, directly affects us. We are the decendants of Persephone.Why else would we have this festivity in her name?

Anton huffs, offended a my expression, but I just smooth a hand over his head and otherwise ignore him. “No, they’re alive,” Laila says, nodding to me and looking around at all of them. “Some of them for hundreds of years. “The Underworld is a Kingdom in itself; as I told you this morning, all the dead are in the Deadlands, awaiting reincarnation.”

FACT VS FICTION INDEX This is more a Myth VS Fiction index for those who don't believe in Greek Mythology - none of this, as far as I'm aware, is known to be a sure fact - these are simply what my research told me and what I used to build the story. FACT: Pluto, Plouton, Hades, and Lucifer are all different names used for the ruler of the underworld. FACT: Zeus is said to have dozens of offspring with both Goddesses and mortal consorts.

It is the deepest section of the underworld which harboured all the darkness and evil of the world; some birthed by Tartarus itself, some children of dark primordial beings such as Khaos, Nyx, and Erebos. Among these children are the triad of death namely Moros, daemon of doom; Ker, bringer of violent death; and Thanatos, spirit of gentle passing. In theory, if we follow our legends, they're under the power of the lord of darkness. But, no one has ever seen or heard of the lord of darkness, so that part may actually be legend."
