Mathew POV. 'Alpha,' I woke up to Nicholas's voice, I groaned and turned to the other side ready to get some more sleep. 'Alpha, alphaaaa, alphhaaa!' Nathaniel adds, I groaned, their whining sounds just like they are right here in the room with me, while they are whining via the bond. 'Get back to sleep,' I say through the bond. 'The kitten got something to ask you,' Nathaniel says that got me to sit up in my bed looking around for the kitten, but she's not in my room, but I still sat up looking for her, I'm acting like a pathetic child instead of an alpha.

“Did I? Well, it is what it is since you are only human. Our strength and mana varies visibly. What’s there to further differentiate?” “I almost killed you that night if not for the beast!” “I am like a cat. I have many lives.” “What?” Yushiro messed up his face. “Cats have one life.” “In the other world, they say cats has nine lives. They say phrases you can’t you can’t understand at all. I’m still trying to figure them out.” “Why are you even catching their phrases? You sound ridiculous.” “I’ve been planning to stay there. They have powders that sounds like they explode inside your mouth. They are sweet sharp powders.”

She laughed as my surprised expression, and I nodded eagerly, going over to sit beside her by the bed when she began narrating her story. Niana explained that her kind had a deep connection to their feline nature, with their agility, independence, and a strong sense of family bonds. She shared stories of her family's history and the different werecat clans that roamed the world. I listened with fascination, eager to broaden my horizons beyond the world of wolves that I had always known.

If one were to look closely, one could even see that the cat had a very humanlike expression of meditation on its face. It could be guessed that these people were all cultivators and very strong ones at that, even the little boy not even a decade old, with deep attainments sufficient to resist with just their bodies the whipping winds that would otherwise easily rip apart a mortal. The fact that they were using a pure-blood demon crane as a mount proved that they had extraordinary backgrounds. Suddenly, the cat opened its mouth. "Do you desire to go visit your home?" The ancient voice that asked those three questions was, surprisingly, not from the middle-aged man… but the ugly cat!

Jeon giggles. “Yep! Open it.” I tear the box open and a small black kitten with blue eyes pops his head out. He’s meowing indignantly at being captured in such an undignified way. “You got me a cat,” I say with panic rising in my voice. Jeon looks a little worried. “Yes, but he’s cute, right? Do you like him?” I reach down and pick up the small warm body. The kitten immediately rubs his head into my neck, and tears well in my eyes. Without even knowing it, Jeon has given me Jonathan Masters in cat form because this kitten loves to cuddle, just like my former lover.

The tips of my ears burned. A shiver ran down to my tailbone, and a fluffy wolf tail threatened to manifest right then and there. Just then, a new notification popped up at the top of the screen.
