Natalie lets out a dry, humorless laugh. “Luca was my only ticket to Italy, Mia. My only way to get close enough, to make this happen. And besides,” she shrugs, her eyes piercing mine, “we have a common target. So why not?”
My stomach drops. Luca, her ticket. Conall, their target. And me? The bait.
“All we need from you,” Natalie continues, stepping closer, her voice dropping to a low, chilling whisper, “is to lure him out. To make him come to us.”
