He looked worn out, his eyes sunken, and his face pale.
Katherine's eyes flashed with anger, but Nathaniel's haggard appearance brought her a twisted sense of satisfaction. She had suffered, and now he was too.
"I don't have all night," Katherine spat, her voice icy. "Speak or leave."
Nathaniel nodded, his voice laced with remorse. "I was a fool, a ruthless man who rejected an angel like you. Katherine, please forgive me." His words poured out, filled with desperation.
Katherine scoffed, her laughter cold. "Save your half-baked apology. Leave."
