Need To Read Books Novels & Stories

“Can I help you?” “I... I want to read,” I said. Her face lit up. “Well, you’re in the right place.” She showed me where the GED books were. Real ones. Thick, updated. I ran my fingers over the spines. “Do I need a card?” “You can read anything here without one,” she said. “But if you want to borrow...” I shook my head. “I’ll just read here.” And I did. Every day after work, for two weeks, I came in. I read until my eyes ached. I took notes on napkins and old receipts.

As she immersed herself in the book, the room's unsettling atmosphere seemed to fade, replaced by the intriguing words on the pages. Aleah couldn't help but feel a mix of curiosity and frustration about Hunter. He was a puzzle she wanted to solve, yet his enigmatic nature left her feeling uncertain. The anticipation of their next conversation lingered in her mind, making it difficult to concentrate fully on the book.

I needed a distraction, something to occupy my mind and make me forget about all the troubles and worries that plagued me. I looked around the room, searching for something to do, and my eyes landed on the stack of books I had collected over the years. I hadn't read any of them in a while, but now seemed like the perfect time to dive into one of them. I walked over to the bookshelf and ran my fingers over the spines, trying to decide which one to pick.

I need to take time. I remember the small room I entered last time. I slowly opened the door and turned on the lampshade. The books on the table were still scattered. I tried to look and read each one of them. These are all interesting books. Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and a lot more. I tried to find something that might help me, but I found nothing.

I didn't like to think of people being mean to Ivy. Most of the photos she was reading in them so I looked at the names of the books that she was reading. It seemed that she liked the classics. I wonder which ones she doesn't have. That was my mission. To find out which books she doesn't have and to see where I can get them from if they are hard to find. I knew that I could find them. And I would. I would do anything for Ivy.

He mumbles, “Who said I’m not interesting?” I sigh, realizing my own words. I’m not that interesting. I don’t have special interests; I don’t do anything outside of school aside from fiddling with computer parts. “Can you finish reading a book she likes before the weekend?” That wasn’t actually a bad idea, except- “She reads so many books. It would be impossible to identify which one is her favorite without asking her.”
