Inside is a slim black velvet box. I flip it open and gasp. Nestled on the black satin lining is a stunning necklace. A dark blue gem sits at the centre, surrounded by four clear stones set at the cardinal points. The pendant is mounted in a delicate silvery metal and suspended from an elegant chain. It’s beautiful. “It reminded me of your eyes,” Tobias says gently. I look at him, my vision swimming, and I have to blink to clear my eyes. “It’s beautiful. I love it.”

The lights in the hall dimmed, and a single, powerful spotlight hit the center of the stage. “And now,” the spokesman said, his voice dropping to a reverent tone. “The final piece. The crown jewel of our collection.” The assistants brought out the necklace. It was a stunning blue diamond, surrounded by a halo of smaller white diamonds, set on a platinum chain that looked like liquid moonlight. Under the chandelier’s glow, the blue stone reflected a deep, oceanic light that danced across the walls of the hall. It was so beautiful it felt illegal to look at.

I drew my attention back to the moment we stepped through the entrance, the moment light illuminated our view of the interior. Let me go back for a clearer view of the image my head was painting. I went back to the living room and saw Myra already rummaging the house down. “Myra stop!” She looked up at me from the couch she was pulling close to the wooden wall, and near that wooden wall was a necklace with an unusual pendant. Why would there be a necklace hung on a wall? The pendant was like a rod kind of, like a small container that could fit a small amount of water or any light substance.

I requested. "And how would you want it to be? Or perhaps do you want to check the one we have in store?" he asked. "Yes, I would love that," I replied, and he led the way. My eyes raked over the pendants he set out for me. He kept giving explanations of how beautiful they are. I stopped when I saw a silver necklace that had a petal-shaped pendant with a diamond in it. "This is called lotus flower, a rare pendant made by Carlisle," he introduced. I knew the craftsman, a very popular man who is known for his artistry skills, and also this pendant reminded me of my mate's wolf.

My fingers traced the edges of the necklace. “The uniqueness of this necklace,” Evelyn continued, her tone unwavering, “is its color shift. Up close, it appears pitch black, absorbing light. But from a distance, it transforms—charcoal grey, then almost white, depending on the angle. It’s designed to mimic the nature of perception—nothing is truly one color, not under every light.” Some of the executives nodded, murmuring their appreciation. One leaned forward, adjusting his glasses. “Impressive. What material allows the shift?”

I stealthily made my way around their sleeping bodies to the work table where their design plan lay. My eyes widened when I saw what they were trying to create. A necklace. I moved to the cooler in the room and I saw their work laying beneath layers of ice. I carefully brought it out and examined the work of art. Carefully crafted silver stars were joined together to make a clasp at the back and at the center was a pendant like circle emblem which housed a moon like marble. It glittered when I turned it to the side and I could have sworn that the moon like pendant seemed to glow in my hand.

“Relax, we’ve got this. Adam’s already helping with the guest list. I’ve contacted some media outlets, and they’re buzzing about it. This is going to be huge!” I groaned, rubbing my temples. “I’m not sure I’m ready for huge.” Evelyn grinned, unbothered. “That’s why you have me. Now, let’s talk about the setup. I was thinking chandeliers, lots of silver and blue accents to match the theme, and maybe a grand entrance for the necklace itself.” “A grand entrance for a necklace?” She nodded excitedly. “Picture this: a spotlight on ‘Tears of the Mermaid’ as it’s unveiled, cameras flashing, everyone gasping. It’ll be a moment no one forgets.”

Another had batteries next to it. The top had several more items, a series of clear balls on a string, in three separate sizes. There were two rods, labeled 7" and 9" with a series of jelly bulbs every two inches or so. Finally there was a largish butt-plug with what looked liked a pony tail attached.

A necklace. The silver necklace gleams softly under the light, its surface polished to a mirror-like finish. Its slender chain sparkles with delicate silver links that seem to catch the light and reflect it back in a thousand tiny glimmers. At the center of the chain, a small pendant hangs, a flawless silver teardrop that seems to shimmer with a gentle, inner light. The pendant is perfectly smooth, with no visible blemishes or imperfections. Its shape is elegant and simple, yet somehow striking in its beauty.

"And now, we come to the final item of the evening. Let's have a look." The platform rose, and the pendant became visible. "What makes this pendant unique is that it was designed by a four-year-old girl. Can you believe it?" Everyone gasped in disbelief as they admired the pendant. It was a heart-shaped red diamond pendant. Everyone was aware by now that the Autumn Collection's theme for the Gala was heart, because each piece featured diamonds in the shape of hearts and was exquisite in it's own right. "The starting price for this pendant is one million." The bid started. Xander looked at Autumn, who was excitedly watching the bidders. Every time someone raised the paddle, she let out a wow.
