The three of them fought a war in the middle of the room, while the employees rushed to close the windows. "I don't need to apologize for telling the truth," he roared. "It's all right! I don't need him to apologize to me," Meg replied, trying to end the fight. They looked at each other for some time, saying nothing. He felt himself being drawn into the blue immensity of her gaze. All their interactions always ended the same way, with James roaring and then running away.

'' I got up from the chair and started to look for the exit of this fucking looking labyrinth mansion. ''Do you want me to show you where the exit is?'' Aaron says with a sarcastic voice. I turn and glare at him, tears still running down my cheeks. As soon as Aaron saw my face, regret formed on his face. I got out of the kitchen, and I could hear Aiden calling my name. I didn't care. I just wanted to get out of this house, but suddenly I felt dizzy and everything was spinning. And after a second, everything went black.

“What’s this?” Ansel rubbed his hand against the letters. “The secret of the maze. The most secluded part of the entire thing holds the names of people who could finish it. When they return to the castle, they tell the staff, and their names are engraved. It’s a way to keep a piece of them in Blue Moon, which seems to make them happy.” Karin traced some names with her finger. “Wow. This is amazing, Ansel. I—wait a minute,” she said as she looked up at him. The smirk on his face made her scowl at him.

Deciding to turn left and search for his scent, I follow along the corridor until I come to a dead end. “Of course,” I mumble to myself before turning around. As I do I notice the walls shifting and changing. My eyes grow wide with fear. How will I find my way back out? Adeline quietly coaches me in my brain, telling me that we need to find a way to escape, and I know that she is right. This maze was made so it would be impossible for someone to find their fated mate. But why would Alexander do this? What would he have to gain from keeping us from our fated mates?

What if that’s where Bonnie was and she needed help? He shook his head. He’d just be in the way over there. He could only imagine the current chaos at the entrance. Today was pick-up and drop-off day. New kids were arriving while some stayed for another week. It meant that the parking area was always full of cars and kids. It commented and a tab appears on the mind space. Mind space is the place where I first came here, a white endless room with only this black and ball-shaped system, and my presence exists. "Selected item: Selene's information. Total points: 500 Continue to redeem? Yes or No?" I take a deep breath before choosing the word yes. The points are meant to use anyway. Pity me, assuring and comforting myself. I didn't have to wait any longer as my mind was filled with a lot of information from the system.

I’m still staring at her when I see a tornado starting to form around her, which causes me to panic until I realize she is the one creating the tornado. “Catch me if you can fellas” she says before the tornado starts to carry her away. That’s when I finally kick him into gear and start chasing her. Me and Saint are running neck and neck at our top speed and she is still at least half a mile away from us on her little tornado. Finally, I see her starting to lower herself to the ground, which makes me pick up speed. Me and Saint get there first followed by Zion. It takes our warriors a couple minutes before they catch up to us as well and we all circle my mate.

Her strides weren’t as powerful compared to when we started running. Her breathing had turned rough and uneven like she’s about to pass out. And the tunnel— The damn tunnel never ended. Turn after turn. Dark passage after dark passage. No windows. No light. No signs of life. Just endless stones and the sound of death chasing us. Where were we even going? What if this was another maze? What if we ran in circles until Leah collapsed and that freak peeled us off the floor? What if… No. I shut my eyes inside myself and prayed harder than I had in years.

“It’s not over…” The void pulsed ominously, and the last words of the system echoed around her: The final choice has been made… but the game is eternal.

Maze is reserved on the outside, cold to some but soft as a marshmallow underneath it all. In a way, Maze reminds me of myself, and now I'm beginning to understand that we belong together. Maze is my mate, and I can't stay away from her anymore. She has those kinds of eyes that can see into your soul and captivate you on the spot. I'm already placed under her spell, unable to break free.
