The shop was in the heart of the town, making it easily assessable from all directions, the place was well ordered as several page boys went up and down dusting and cleaning the carriages.
Oblivious to any ill intention coming his way, Nicholas, himself was enclosed in his office, counting his bag of coins, the one thing that brought him relish. The hasty sounds of footsteps at the front of his door made him scramble to his feet, dropping the bags of money on the floor at his feet, he put a foot on them, the clinking sound of the coins could be heard as he stepped on them.
The door was swung open as his scrawny assistant was pushed in only to be pushed out again by a strong hand.
