I smoothed the paper again and brought it back to the drawer. Again and again, I was still trying to find something. I stood up from the chair and walked over to the shelf with a few books. Something I had never seen from Nicholas because he always collected so many books in his office, in his home in Long Island, in his apartment, and in his room in the Dolomites. The titles seen on the spine of the books made me frown once again; they were the titles of novels that were always sold cheaply. I didn't expect them to be here. Is this his office?

“Oh! Apologies. I didn’t add my last name earlier. Confusion.” Everyone laughed at Nicholas, but when he tucked on his jacket and cleared his throat, I understood it was his perfect method of conveying his message. “This is a short uninteresting story about me,” he continued. “Don’t bother taking out a pen,” everyone laughed again, and I felt so proud. Nicholas is studying him with the frank curiosity of a child who had never learned suspicion. Then, without warning, Nicholas reached out and placed a small hand on Dominic’s shoulder. It was nothing and barely weight at all. And Dominic broke inside. He felt that something fractured so deep, it felt like terminal. “I got a new book! I didn't want to be alone with him. My attention snapped back to Nicholas when I heard a commotion and disruption. It was then that I noticed the shelves weren't filled with books, but rather brown files. There were so many of them. The bookshelf towered over me, almost twice my height, with numerous compartments housing countless files. I observed as Nicholas plucked a file from one of the compartments and began reading it. I expected him to return it to its place, but to my shock, he flung it to the ground instead.

He got no other choice other than to follow it. Heaving a sigh, Nickolas went to the bed and saw his brand new tuxedo lying there. He picked it up and changed into that costly suit that fitted his toned physique. Uncle Vincent knows better to pick the perfect tuxedo compared to his dad, he thought while looking at his handsome reflection in the mirror. The mole on his right cheek complements his attractiveness.
