Nathan, Lucas, and Julian tore through the industrial wasteland of the lower Havenfall docks, the neon lights of the city flickering off the hoods of their blacked-out sedans. They weren't shifting into wolves; they were shifting gears. This was a different kind of hunt. They were sixteen, fueled by adrenaline and the reckless arrogance of heirs to the Cocolink throne, chasing a rival courier’s bike that had strayed into their territory.

The jeans were tight on her ass and he felt his mouth water. He had promised her a good night. He couldn’t do what he wanted to because of the snow, so he had come up with another plan. They drove to Greg and Nancy’s and dropped Christian off. Then, he took her to a little shack in the woods. Renee felt nervous as they drove down a road that looked like it had just been scraped. Why was he taking her to the woods? Had he lured her into a false sense of security so she would willingly go with him? Was he planning on killing her and dumping her body out here?

A figure detaches itself from the grey fog of the basalt ridge ahead. It isn't a coastal raider, and it isn't an elite fighter from the Western Coalition. It is a runner from the local border-clans—the Unranked scavengers who live in the black caves between the high peaks and the sea. The male is small, his ribs showing through a tattered cloak of seal-hide, his scent a pathetic mixture of old mud, raw fish, and absolute, debilitating terror. He drops straight onto his belly in the frozen slush, his hands flat against the shale as Clyde steps into his space. "Speak," Clyde growls, his voice a subterranean vibration that makes the pebbles around the runner's fingers rattle.

"By ten thousand." Jax took a sip from his glass. "The Diablos hit the southern route last night. They spooked the runners and skimmed off the top before we could get boots on the ground." I leaned back in my leather chair, my expression hardening. "I don't care if they spooked the runners. The Diablos don't breathe in our territory without my permission. Find the men who ran the route. Bring them to the warehouse. We are going to have a conversation about securing my money."

CHAPTER FOUR -ANTONIO- It was now late into the night, almost midnight, and the celebration was coming to its last event; the Run. The Run was an age-old royal tradition. It was a game, a chase under the dance of moonlight. Only the King and Queen's children were allowed to participate in the event. Whichever of the royal offspring reached the age of maturity would have to compete against their older siblings. This would demonstrate the royal's skills and formally initiate them into the competition for becoming the future ruler of the Lycan Empire. One’s from the Red Claw pack, knows how to follow a trail over any terrain. If Sasha left even a whisper of a scent behind, they’ll find it.” I nodded. My wolf haven’t been at rest since Sasha left, it kept pacing and trying to take over, but I anyways found a way to suppress it.

“Too fucking close.” Thomas glanced up, eyes tired but sharp. “That’s the point, Rival. They want you rattled. Want us running.” I bared my teeth. “Then let’s stop running.” By dawn, I had a plan. The courier routes, the names whispered in alley corners, the half-burned ledgers we hadn’t torched yet—they all led to one place: a midtown warehouse, painted innocent, guarded quiet.
