Hyde could feel the pressure with every step Chase took forward. Chase's feet stepped hard on the marble steps. Every step was like a step on Hyde's heart. Hyde tensed up as he found it increasingly difficult to breathe. Finally… Hyde could no longer bear it as he coughed up blood. "W-Who are you?" Hyde looked fearful. "It's not important who I am. What's important is that ants like you have angered me. You'll all die for this!" Chase stepped forward at this and waved his arm. A metal bat appeared in his palm. AS I STEPPED INTO the hallway, the pitch-black paint nearly left me in the dark, but I was used to it and soon enough my eyes adjusted to the lighting. Curved into the walls were vines decorated with spikes. The carvings are as pitch black as the wall itself, so anyone who got too close to the wall would be sliced open by the spikes. I wasn't looking at the spikes, though, but at the things hanging from them. Thousands of little objects hung from the spikes: necklaces, bracelets, watches, etc. I took every piece from a corpse the Nightmare Master forced me to massacre.

But they smell like they’re already rotting from the inside. “Gods have mercy,” I whisper, staring at all of them with my chest constricting in worry. “What caused all this? Have they gotten the antidote yet?” “No.” The voice that comes through came from someone I didn’t expect to be here. I turn around and find Hyden, looking like he hasn’t slept in a while. I must say, I’m disarmed. I haven’t seen him this genuinely concerned… probably forever.
