Nightmare Before Christmas Town Meeting Novels & Stories

"That was so brave, sweetheart. I know it’s hard, but we need to try one more time so it’s perfect. For me?" Maya took a shaky breath, clutched her rabbit, and nodded. "One more time, Mama." The Town Hall started at 9:03 PM because two of the rogue Alphas couldn't figure out how to unmute themselves and a third had apparently joined from a moving vehicle and kept cutting out every time he went under a bridge. Xander waited. He was good at waiting. When everyone was finally present—twenty-six of the twenty-eight, which he'd take—he kept it short.

Eleven people total, more manageable than Thanksgiving but still significant. Charlotte was vibrating with excitement. “Santa comes TONIGHT! After we sleep! Presents TOMORROW!” “Yes, but first you have to actually sleep. Santa doesn’t come until children are sleeping.” “I’ll sleep SO FAST! The fastest sleeping EVER!” James was equally excited but less articulate. “Santa! Santa coming! PRESENTS!” Dinner was lovely Catherine’s traditional Christmas Eve menu, everyone together, children behaving reasonably well given excitement levels. After dinner, Charlotte insisted on reading “The Night Before Christmas” to the whole group.

After breakfast, we decided to take a walk through the town. The streets were bustling with post-Christmas shoppers, and I found myself enjoying the lively atmosphere. Colorful decorations still hung from lampposts and shop windows, giving the town a festive feel. “Good morning, Alpha! Luna!” an elderly man called out as we passed, tipping his hat respectfully. A group of young werewolves bowed their heads as we walked by. “Alpha Edwin, Luna,” they murmured in unison.

Xavier looked at him and be agreed with him. He looked at Jared as he dropped back on his bed “You are really not going to stand up, are you?” Xavier asked him “Not really. I barely slept and I look like a mess. You know I can’t face the people if I look like this” Jared said “Fair point but you can’t sleep forever. You have a town meeting in four hours. After that, we would be driving down to the blue moon valley” he said

The lingering doubts about whether a city girl could survive on Arthur’s land had completely vanished—not just in her own mind, but in the eyes of the valley. ‎ ‎After finishing her chores in the barn, Kat pulled on her thick wool coat, wrapped her cream scarf around her neck, and climbed into her red truck. Today was the annual December Town Planning Meeting at the Pine Valley Community Center, a event where locals gathered to discuss road maintenance budgets, winter wood allocations, and the upcoming holiday festivities. ‎ ‎The drive down the mountain pass was quiet, the heavy pines standing rigid beneath their blankets of snow. ‎

The council officials did not know what to do at the moment as the meeting was adjourned to three days. At the meeting, they discussed more the Mayor, Emily, and the Sheriff and they said they would pay them a visit in weeks. The kids were commended for their job well done and they were referred to as important people of the town. (A WEEK LATER) AT THE MAYOR'S HOUSE The friends sat around a table, Elena walked to the cabinet nearby and took a bottle of champagne. She returned with it Sarah brought the glass cups then Laura served the wine. They all stood up to cheer as Peter spoke.

It was the man himself. “Hi Uncle.” I said as cherry as I could muster. “Hello child. How are you feeling today? Still hurting a lot?” He asked me. “I’m getting a little better every day I promise.” I told him. “Good that’s great news. I’m just calling to fill you in I just finished a meeting with the boys. We’re going to have our next meeting tomorrow… concerning the plan. But I don’t want to meet in the same place twice so I need you to come to the Christmas tree farm out on Shelton’s Pass… at noon tomorrow. Do you know where that is?” He asked me.

“I mean… Mom brought me lunch, which was nice. But we got some new kittens, I’m worried about them.” “I’m sorry to hear that,” he said, his tone conveying he truly meant that. “I spoke to the council members about the Christmas events, basically one at a time today. While there was some pushback from Bob, and I’m not sure about a couple others, I think we have the votes. We’re going to call a special session for tomorrow night.” That sounded like good news. Noelle couldn’t help but smile to hear it. “Mom will be happy to hear that.”

“Are they the biggest, then?” “Oh, no. That would be the Winter Dance, at the school. It’s followed by town-wide blackout, and then we light candles and gas lanterns to find our way home. All of the adults come and join us, and we walk around the town and light ceremonial candles on the way. Well, we all do except for those that choose to go to the after party a little early,” she’d laughed.

He kisses my forehead softly before looking back at our room full of witches. “So, how did everyone sleep?” He asks again. This time he gets replies, and they are all positive. “That was the most amazing night we have all had in a long time. We normally sleep in fear; last night, we didn’t.” “I am so sorry that you normally sleep in fear. I am delighted you had a good night’s rest last night.” I finally have a chance to speak. “We were wondering.” The woman with an infant from yesterday says for them. “What do we have to do if we wish to stay. I know in our Kingdom you need to do certain things in order for the King to grant that permission.” How she speaks and looks at me makes me sick. Sex
