DEVIL’s GRIP
Hema’s vision was blurry, her wrists ached from the tight ropes, and her head spun from whatever Nina had drugged her with. The coldness of the warehouse seeped into her bones, but the danger before her was far worse than the discomfort.
Nina sat in front of her, casually placing her arms over the headrest of the chair she turned backward. A gun rested on her lap, her fingers lazily running along the metal surface.
“You know, Hema,” Nina sighed, tilting her head, “I could have been patient. I could have let you suffer a little longer, made you watch as Zayden forgot about you. But no… you always have to be the center of attention, don’t you?”
