"So no snooping in the bag." "I hate surprises," Cole groans and we go into the living room where Danielle is reading. "That's my book," Marcus says and Danielle holds her hand up as she finishes what she's reading. Marcus raises his eyebrows at the sass she's giving him. "I kept your place, don't worry," she says and shows him where his bookmark is. Marcus grumbles and lets her have the book. Marcus makes stir fry for tea while Cole and Danielle stalk hot guys on I*******m. I sit next to them with Minnie on my lap and give my input when they ask.

“Don’t let anyone control your life. Just forget about them and work on your book. You might end up back in New York to publish it before you know.” The phrasing makes my skin prickle. He knows I’m trying to write again. He knows how fragile those pages feel to me right now. And the way he says don’t give it away feels like both encouragement and a warning. I manage a thin smile. “Thanks, Noah.” He holds my gaze a moment longer, then finally steps out into the night. When the door shuts, I let out a shaky breath.

Noah gave me a flat look but didn't hide his amusement, "Nope. I am sticking with cheese and only cheese because I don't like pineapple on pizza." I smiled lightly, looking away from Noah. I didn't fail to notice the confused look he gave me when I went quiet but instead of asking me, he changed the subject which I was grateful for. "A Thousand Splendid Suns?" Noah asked, nodding to the book that was in my lap. I looked at the book, nodded as I looked at Noah, "Dad's got a huge library. I found a random book and started it." "It's a good book," he shrugged.

Although he can't leave here, like me, who knows what he gets up to in his spare time. "Not quite," he says, holding up the book so the cover faces me. On it, is the name Shinee in bright golden letters surrounded by dark tinted italic pattern swirling around like magic. It looks similar in configuration to mind. "It's a book, on your mate." I echo my thoughts, curious about getting my hands on it. "So, basically the same premise of mine? Isn't this like some kind privacy breach?" Damon shrugs his shoulders. As if he cares.

Carol hugged me "Hey bae." I chuckled "You wanna cut your hair too?" She asked "Yeah changing my hair color to black again I think." I said and she nodded "I'm kinda tired to see you in brown." She chuckled and we both go to the salon. Cutting our hair and I finished first since Carol make her hair ombre like Dahyun from Twice in Ooh Ahh. I walked to the bookstore to check out another book.
