Noah Cast Novels & Stories

Mabel's POV My stepdad’s thigh is pressed against mine under the blanket and I am one deep breath away from doing something catastrophic. It’s family movie night. Me, my mom, and my stepdad are crammed onto the couch with a blanket over all three of us like we’re a normal family. Noah is between us — forty-four, ex-athlete, broad chest, thick arms, silver at his temples, the kind of man who fills a doorframe and makes your brain stop working when he rolls his sleeves up.

It was a bit exhausting because the break between shifts was considered his break to eat and have a rest, but that was spent picking up Ezekiel, cooking dinner, and helping him with his homework. "I have to go," he heard a Scottish accent say as the front door opened. Cailen breathed a sigh of relief as he placed the pan he had used to fry the pork into the sink. "Cami- I have to- I'm hanging up. No, I- Bye," Noah said as he rounded the corner, lowering his hand and pressing a button on his phone, his guitar in his other hand. He sighed and lifted his head, an apologetic look on his face mixed with a distressed sort of look.

I can’t face the shattering that would bring. But then—his voice. Low. Rough. Hollow. “No, Reina,” Noah says softly, stepping forward. I turn to him and see what grief has done. His beard is grown out, unkempt, his face sunken in all the places where laughter used to live. His eyes—dark, hollow, like the light has gone out of them. “That’s not Elena,” he tells her. “That’s Ray.”

Mrs Janice gasped. “What the hell do you think you're doing!?” “Going to find my woman before she leaves to God knows where again!” Noah snapped and grabbed his mask off the countertop. He dashed out of the room, ignoring his mother who was yelling at him not to leave. Noah took the elevator to the downstairs living room where he net Veronica and Bianca, watching a movie. “Bianca.” He called and they both turned. They could see how stressed out he was, so they both got up and walked towards him.

Walking over to Gwynn, he held her shoulder and flashed her a faint smile, “Did you make a friend? Aren’t you going to introduce us?” She had no idea how much he saw, but she had no choice but to do as he said. “This is Ewan Mills. He’s a rising star in the entertainment industry. He’s the male lead in the popular television show, ‘Windchaser.' “This is Noah. He’s my husband.” … Noah said with a smile, “I’m more than that. Aside from being her husband, I’m also the father of her two children.” As always, he derived joy out of being sappy.

“I cannot believe this.” Becca exclaimed making me chuckle. “uhm, lets get you your schedule. Noah why don’t you tag along to collect yours too?” I suggested and he nodded to my surprise. “do you know what Daniel meant by the Noah King?” I asked Becca even though Noah was right beside me, he does not seem to care and I think he has this expressionless façade to hold up to so why not make the most of it? “Noah is a state winning champion in football.”

I explained, my hands shaking as I ran a brush through my messy hair. I walked back into the massive living area, looking out at the sweeping views of the city. “And mid meeting, guess who walks through the door wearing a designer suit? Noah! He literally works for Jace. He is like his right-hand business guy. I thought I was going to pass away right there on the rug.” “Oh my god, the plot gets even better,” Molly gasped, completely hooked on every word. “So Noah is a corporate baddie by day and a stall rider by night? That is insane. But where are you right now?”

Noah, the freshman student who works here part-time, looks up when I enter and gives me a smile. “Hey, Kat,” he pushes up his glasses and greets me with that sweet, dimpled smile I can’t help but return. He’s tall and lean since he’s a swimmer, has dyed blue hair, hazel eyes, a cute little beauty spot right on his chin, and piercings in his ear. When I first met him, I thought he was still in his high school rebellious phase, but once I started to know him better, I realized that he never had one. THIS is his rebellious phase after growing up with strict parents and being a pastor’s only son.

**Subject: Noah** **Status: Unstable** **Bond Integrity: Compromised** **Phase III: Engaged** Wren leaned in close to the screen, watching Noah sleep in real-time. He whispered, almost tenderly, “Now we begin.”

After almost five minutes of waiting, the engine cut off, and the door finally opened. Noah fucking stepped out like he was auditioning for a goddamn cologne commercial, and the crowd lost their fucking minds. Girls screamed while the guys called out greetings, and phones flashed nonstop like paparazzi. I groaned with disgust, already walking away from that bullshit, thinking “Don't you people have anything better to do, for fucks sake!” Apparently, they didn’t because all of them stopped whatever they were doing before, just to watch Noah walk in. He was wearing earm sunglasses, a perfectly tailored navy sweater over a crisp white shirt, thousand-dollar khakis, and old money loafers.
