Grayson remained at the table, moaning quietly to himself about the life he had built and the son who refused to fit into it.
Noah reached his car and didn’t waste a second. He started the engine and drove out of the compound, through the gates, eyes already blurry with tears he fought hard to hold back. He knew he wouldn’t be able to keep them in for long.
He gripped the steering wheel tightly, knuckles white, as he sped down the highway. Eventually he pulled over at a quiet, lonely spot along the road and killed the engine. The moment the car went silent, he collapsed forward, forehead pressing hard against the steering wheel. Hot tears poured down his face, his head throbbing with everyth
