“She texted the address and then we had Jason bring us here. “So, you two lied to Iris?” I ask, my brows pulling down a little. “We did bring the gifts, so we didn’t lie about that,” Nova adds, with a cute shrug and innocent look. Damn, how can I even be mad when she’s looking at me like that? How does Noah even handle them? I would give in every single time they give me those puppy eyes. Nova pulls back, her little hands gripping mine. “Can we come in? Please?” Her eyes shine with a mix of excitement and the faintest flicker of worry, like she’s afraid I’ll turn her away.

While the woman’s gaze wasn’t directly mean, Rose could feel how she seized her figure, staring at her body as though emphasizing her flaws. Rose raised her brows. It was hard to dismiss such attitude when Iris didn’t hide her sharp gaze. “And my name is Nico Hacouver. Iris’s brother,” spoke the man who stood behind Iris. As Iris was the person who always had the limelight on herself, her brother was quite the opposite. ISABELLA The door swings open without warning. I jerk so hard I nearly fall off the bed. Noah stands there, one foot still in the hallway, balancing a large wooden tray in his hands. Steam curls up from small bowls and plates. There’s grilled shrimp glazed in something golden, sliced mango and dragon fruit, flatbread folded beside a dish of creamy sauce, and something that smells citrusy and spicy all at once. He blinks at me. I blink at him. Slowly, a grin pulls at his mouth. “Should I be concerned that you look like you just got caught burying a body?”

My breath caught in my throat, my eyes widening at them… What the hell was Noah doing on my campus? Why was he here parading his perfect life and his perfect rich fiancée right in front of my face after everything that happened last night?
