Forty-three Nora Connolly She was going to help Winter take back The Night Coven. There was still a lot about magic that she didn’t understand. But she liked the idea of helping her cousin get what was rightfully hers. The Night Coven wasn’t her world. She’d stumbled into it by accident. Even though her family had been part of it, they had run from it. And she had to think that there was a reason for that. Still, she would do whatever it took to help get it back from Merrick. Nora stood in front of the grimoire, staring at it.

Norah's eyes lit up as she came up with the plot. Chloe's heart skipped a beat, as she did not expect that Norah could be so scheming at such a young age. "No problem. It looks like I have to go there myself." As long as she could vilify Nicole, she would have a chance to divide Nicole and Jared, and then Jared would be hers. "It would be best if you can go." “You’re right. I have been a bit snippy lately. I’m sorry.” I waved my hand in dismissal. “It’s okay. I’ve deserved most of what you’ve dished out. Also, we’re all a bit off our game of late.” “What do you expect after all that you’ve been through?” Killian asked as he stepped behind Nora and pulled her so that her head rested against his chest. “Have you been checked by a doctor yet? It might be a good idea?” “And tell them what?” Nora scoffed. “That the devil’s servant lept out of a portrait, kidnapped me, and took me to an alternate dimension? After which, I was turned into a vampire only to be turned human again by some magical creatures who dine on people?”

But I only have eyes for Knox, for the man I thought I'd never see again. He reaches me first, dropping to his knees in the blood-soaked leaves. His hands hover over my body, clearly wanting to touch me but afraid of causing more damage. "Aubrey, oh god. What happened? Who did this to you?" His voice breaks on the words. I try to sit up straighter, using the tree for support. Every movement is agony, but this information is too important to wait. "Knox... listen to me." The words come out slurred through my split lip. "Nora is dead. The woman with the Crescent Pack... she's not who you think she is."

then she turned the door knob and it clicked shut behind her. Nora's breath became short. She had lumps stuck in her throat, she knew Eve was of no good. But she had bigger things to focus on now. The night air was cold as she stepped outside, her heart racing. She had sent a message to Ryder through Mary earlier. If he truly meant what he said about wanting her back, he would come. And if he didn’t come? She would know once and for all that he was nothing but a coward.

“I’ll help. We’re going to make sure you look unfairly good.” The food arrives not long after. We eat cross-legged on the couch, cartons open between us, trading bites and half-watching the show. Nora talks between mouthfuls about how nervous Nolan was earlier, how he practiced transitions for days, how she’s pretending not to be proud. I listen and laugh when I’m supposed to. An hour later I checked my phone again. Still nothing from Killian. I push the small flicker of disappointment down and follow Nora into her room.

Elizabeth asked with much excitement and Nora swallowed so hard. "We will talk about that later, what's up with you? Why the numerous scars? You don't look fine, has Bella been treating you unwell?" Nora asked worriedly as she scanned Elizabeth and the latter faked a smile. "Not at all, I am fine and stronger." Nora knew she was lying and also knows that Bella must have been maltreating her. But she is back now and won't allow Bella to mistreat her anymore. "Anyways, meet Brenda, she is going to be assisting you." Nora introduced and Bella stepped forward. "Hi! I am Brenda, nice to meet you." TBC
