"It's biology," he countered. "Not an excuse, but an explanation. My sons will have to earn your forgiveness if you choose to give it. But right now, we have more pressing concerns than your relationship dynamics."
He tapped the photograph on his desk. "The Northern Alliance isn't just coming to observe. They're coming to eliminate what they see as a threat, the last Blackthorne."
"So cancel the ceremony," I insisted. "Let me leave. I'll disappear."
