"Thank you for this, Zane. Honestly. Today was... a lot." Zane glances at her, his expression warm. "Hey, no problem. I told you I wouldn't leave you hanging any day. You look exhausted." He reaches over, not to touch her, but just to turn the radio on softly. A familiar classic R&B comes on adding to the serenity. He’s giving her space, a quiet reliability that it was almost too good to be true. "So, Dèvon & Co. is quite the place, huh? From what I saw outside, it’s all glass and angles. Just like the man who runs it."

she yells "Princess calm down so what " I shrug "So what, I- what am I going to do" she starts pacing. I'm guessing the realization only hit her now "You know" I walk towards her and I grab her waist to come towards me. Looking down at her my eyes darkened "I have a job that pays well and I know you'll love it " "Oh okay what's that", she says enthusiastically "Girlfriend allowance of let's say 100k a day" I kiss her cheek

Looking at Sera the way, someone looks at furniture they are already planning to throw out. “You must be Sera,” she said. Her voice was pleasant. That was somehow the worst part. Sera set spatula down. “You must be Nicole.” Something shifted in Nicole’s expression. She hadn’t expected that. She had probably expected tears. Or trembling. Or the wife, lost eyes of a woman who didn’t already know. “Elliot told me about the sixty days,” Nicole said, moving further into the kitchen, her fingers trailing lightly how long the counter. “ I have to say, I found it interesting. The whole thing.”

The employee nods slowly. "I admire the confidence." "I admire your optimism," I whisper. Alejandro glances at me. "Whose side are you on?" "I was on yours." I grin. "Then you missed the target six times." "It was five." "The sixth one is coming." "It isn't." He throws another ball, it bounces off the rim. The employee coughs politely. "That was six." I laugh so hard I have to grab Alejandro's arm to stay upright. "This is officially my favorite day."

I look at the message. Good news or bad, I type. Both, he says. Depending on how you look at it. I look up at Priya. She is watching my face. "More?" she says. "Always more," I say. I text back. Three o'clock. Common Grounds. Then I put the phone away and I walk with Priya out into the Wednesday morning and I let it be good for a few hours before whatever comes next arrives. Leo calls while I am walking. He wants to know if I can come Sunday. He beat four more levels. He wants to show me.

Chapter 95: On a good Saturday. Day 32/365 VICKY I woke up with a jolt, my heart was filled with so much joy of a child anticipating santa and christmas present, For a second, I didn’t even know why I felt so energized… then i reached for my calendar to track my dates ,Today was day 32 out of 365. I sat up, reached for my diary, and scribbled in bold letters: “Day 32/365 — I have a plan.”

he said. But later, when Meredith learned that I'd chosen to marry Landon, she blatantly mocked me. "I heard the zombies are so far gone that they're about to get kicked out of the Otherkin Alliance, Annabelle. They can't even feed themselves. Let's hope you don't starve to death before even getting pregnant! "Things are the opposite with the Whitefang pack. I heard they're so wealthy that they can afford to add precious herbs even when taking baths. Well, if you're willing to grovel at my feet and beg me, I'll consider giving you some of my leftovers."

The next morning, Alberta’s sunlight streamed through the small cabin windows, catching the dust in the air and painting the room gold. Claire sat at the kitchen table with a mug of coffee in her hands, Alex coloring beside her with his crayons, his small tongue peeking out as he concentrated. Everything looked normal—peaceful, almost deceptively so—but Claire’s nerves were taut beneath the calm surface.
