Leonard's cheeks flushed red; he fled the scene, knowing that he had done nothing but embarrass himself. Having been with Leonard for a decade, I knew him better than I knew myself. I knew he wouldn't stop here. I knew I had to move to another city. After arriving at the hotel, I paid for another two weeks and stayed there with Gillian. I put my house on sale online and withdrew Gillian from her kindergarten before plopping on the bed in relief. Before even a minute had passed, my phone started ringing. It was Leonard, bombarding me with calls and messages. I blacklisted his number, and my phone immediately went silent.

Half a month had passed since I last saw him, so I already missed him dearly. However, as soon as I arrived at the airport, I ran into Quinton and Zachary. They both had sullen expressions, but their faces lit up immediately when they saw me. "Mom! I knew you would come! Are those tarts for me? Thank you for these!" Zachary eagerly snatched the box from my hand. Quinton said coldly, "I told you the deadline was before three o'clock. Do you know what time it is right now? You should learn a thing or two from Lynn when it comes to timeliness!"

People loved the mood I'd captured. One comment read, "You must have a story to tell. That's why your photos feel so poetic." My failed relationship with Nadine was definitely a story. But it was behind me now. I'd be fine on my own. … After a month had passed, my followers hit a million, and bookings flooded in. As for Nadine, I hadn't heard a thing from her. Then, out of nowhere, an unknown number called one day. I answered, only to hear a familiar voice.

Not like I was reviewing the book. Dang! I feel so embarrassed right now. But, I'm not mad. I promise you. but for now, Let's move to our next book.... WINNING WALKER. Thanks for all you do. But yeah, The Boynextdoor Is over. Like my counter people would say... DONE AND DUSTED.

" I blushed, despite hearing those words from him every single day. "I've got you; you don't have to face anything alone. I'm always here for you." I nodded, smiling, as he placed another kiss on my lips. His reassurance was comforting. He was understanding and reliable, a treasure I wished I had met sooner. Today is going to be great, or so I thought. My optimism was short-lived as my phone beeped, an email from my company. Going through it, the content left me stunned and overwhelmed. Nathan's actions were beyond my wildest imagination. Alexander noticed my distress and asked, "What's wrong?"
