I took the back and went to the kitchen to ask the scholar some questions. “Do you know how to read these?” I asked him excitedly. He took a look at the book and smiled. “No, however, I know you can.” he said. He was right. The english text on the book was a little note from whoever wrote it. “There are more like me, more like you, we can be found anywhere and most of us have made our mark on this world. She found Joel still seated comfortably as he bobbed his head to the music in his ears. Shooting him a killing look, she sat on one of the chairs close to the door. The motivational posters of various colours that decorated the sky-blue painted walls caught her attention. And most of them, she observed, contained quotes from famous people. They were my own personal homework, and getting used to the thought, I hadn't picked up any book other than a cooking book in years. They held so much truth, things that I had no idea had actually occurred. Those books were her life and the more I read, the more I understood what she went through in life. I looked at the colorful sticky notes around my apartment; quotes that I'd written from both books. Try new things. Learn to appreciate the silence in your heart. Smile more often. Do things that make you happy. Those were a few of the things that I'd written down. There were so many, but I decided to concentrate on these few. I guess I could get a good enough view of her there… Oh gosh, Anya, that’s so gross. I just shake off the thought and decide to unroll the bag. As I do so, I stumble upon something. I look below me and near my right knee is Sadie’s notebook, slightly ajar. I took them and lay them on the side so I could straighten the sleeping bag. It is coated in black but there are a few statements written in what seems like a cut-out white paper taped on the hardbound. My notebook lay open beside my laptop, filled with observations that somehow felt more personal than professional. Before closing it, I added one last line. Still impossible to read.

Startled, I quickly shrank back, but it was too late. He strode out, grabbed me by the back of my collar, and hauled me in like a little chick. "Quinn, this notebook is yours?" From a young age, I have always dreamed of writing a book that people all over the world would want to read. I once heard someone say, "If you are a writer and people don’t read your books, then you have written a journal." This quote stuck with me and made me realize that the real goal of writing is to create something that others want to read and enjoy.

My mind was consumed by the mystery of his presence in my imagination. Unable to find rest, I decided to browse on my phone until fatigue overcame me. While scrolling, a quote captured my attention: “You can live your whole life not realizing that what you’re looking for is right in front of you.” I couldn't look away from the screen as I absorbed those words. It felt as if the moon goddess herself was speaking directly to me through this simple message. Suddenly, everything seemed to fall into place, and I sensed that I had found answers to my innermost questions.

It never does. I start writing in a notebook, small thoughts, fragments that come when I least expect them. Sentences like He smiled when he thought no one was watching, or The world looks softer when you don’t have to save it. I don’t know who they’re about, but the words pour out like confessions to a forgotten god.
