The Following Night. 10PM. A Street Upstate New York, Off Campus Grounds. LILY. She tightened her grip on the steering wheel as the red Chevrolet Colorado rolled slowly through the quiet street, the dim streetlights casting long shadows across the road. Megan sat beside her, shifting slightly in her seat, her eyes flicking from the windshield to the empty sidewalks outside. The low hum of the engine was the only sound between them until Lily eased her foot off the pedal and pulled to a stop at the corner.

After they say goodbye, I sped off down the surrounding narrow country lanes back to our grounds. I check the rear-view mirror to see both girl’s eyes are glazed over which means they are mind-linking one another. Judging by Jeremy’s reaction as he turned 18 at the stroke of midnight, he had found his mate and my new Luna was sitting behind me. For some reason Jeremy and Willow hadn’t told Lizzie and I wouldn’t go against them, they must have their reasons. We had been driving for around 15 minutes when I slow the car down to turn a sharp corner. Suddenly, I notice skidded tyre tracks on the road ahead and a car upside down in the field adjacent. I stop the car completely.

It was unlikely to be Jake Hanson, although she didn’t know who might be driving this way. There was no other house on the hill, only Nana’s. It stood alone like a watchtower, and even though there was plenty of space to build more homes, nobody had. The car pulled even with her. She could see the hood just out of the corner of her eye—a wide, black sedan. A male voice called, “Hey, Lauren.”

Nolan leaned against me as we waited for the car to pull up and take us to our home, for a long-awaited rest before our week of glorious fun with a 7-year-old. "We are good here Mr. Johnson, thank you.", Nolan said as Mr. Johnson got in with his wife to head home, Nolan opened the passenger seat for me as I climbed in and immediately took off my too-high heels. Nolan got in the driver seat and started up the engine, as he started looking at my blistery feet. "Don't look at my moldy feet", I told him as he looked away and kept his eyes on the road as we exited the large, white gate that opened up to a busy highway filled with flashing lights and billboards.

Wrapping herself in a warm robe, she made her way to the bathroom, eager to rid herself of the remnants of sleep and embrace the day ahead. Turning on the faucets, Delaney adjusted the water until a comfortable warmth filled the room. AUTHOR'S POV Heavy June rain hammered against the corrugated iron roof of the underground bar, drowning out the low thumping bass. Yvonne crossed her arms over her expensive trench coat, shivering as the damp, stifling humidity clung to her skin. The subterranean tavern smelled of wet dog, stale beer, and raw ozone from the thunderstorm raging across the city. Sitting across the sticky wooden booth, a man with a jagged scar down his neck lazily counted the stacks of crisp hundred-dollar bills. Securing her position as Luna meant cutting out Chandler’s obsession at the root, and this human mercenary was the only blade sharp enough to do it.

I said and he took a swift turn to look at me before signalling with his hand asking who was back. “The rightful Luna of the Pack and betrothed to the Alpha Karl is back but the only thing is she has lost her memory and can’t remember anything, I even heard Alpha Karl call her Avery I guess it’s a name he gave to her to have an identity,” I said waiting for a reaction because we had somehow plotted and I had made sure to do the job of taking Naya Rose the supposed Luna out and so she wouldn’t ever come back but I was wrong I didn’t kill her.

The tingling in her body multiplies when he pulls her close and leaves a kiss on her lips as soon as the judge signals him to. "I present to you the new leader of Redwood Wolves, Luna Selene Blazeheart," the elder announces, and gradually, everyone begins to applaud.
