"Come. Sit." I sat. She looked at me the way she always did, like she could see straight through whatever face I had decided to wear tonight. "How was the ceremony?" she asked. "Wonderful," I said. "Very glamorous. Very expensive. Very not us. Elder Mara wore her good robes. The ones without the gravy stain. So you know it was a special occasion." My mother's mouth curved. "And?" "And Victoria Hale is going to be Luna." I kept my voice light. "The whole pack is very excited. Someone released actual flower petals into the air Mama. With their hands. Like they had nothing better to do with them."

he said. Nolan stepped into the doorway his uniform torn and his face covered in soot from the fight in the courtyard. He looked at the blood on the floor at the medics rushing toward the exit. "The driveway is clear enough for the truck, boss.. The south bridge is flooding. We have to take the ridge path " he said. Dante pointed at Kayla, his voice breaking apart. "Take her. Get the team and put her in the armored car. If she feels a bump on that rough road, Nolan I will hold you responsible. Do you understand me " he said.

Just looking at his face made me nauseous. I pursed my lips tightly and, with heavy steps, approached the high platform before climbing onto it. I was still trying to steady myself when a figure suddenly leaped from the ground and landed on the platform—more than a hundred feet high. My eyes widened in shock as I recognized the burly man, his body rippling with muscles. Then he spoke, his voice loud enough to shake mountains and stir the oceans. “Today, we are going to witness another memorable day in our pack. Today, we are going to crown our Luna. Everyone, cheer!”

Alanna asked around a mouthful of burger, showing no shame in the way she was eating. Lainie smiled as she gave a slight shake of her head. "Well, hopefully, those idiots make a move and I can shove them behind bars for being morons. That's about the only way we can make anything stick thanks to how Rance acted in the woods." His actions still grated on her nerves. Just when she thought she was past it, his loss of control would pop back into her head, and she'd get pissed all over again. "I just hope they don't wait too long." She glanced out the giant window with the logo of Gracie's Diner on it, staring at the empty highway. She shook her head. Some highway. 192 finally became more than j

Nolan and Lana were sitting in front of the computer, while the former seemed to be operating something on an interface. Upon hearing the door open, Lana spun around. Spotting her parents, she immediately ran over with a beaming smile. "Daddy, Mommy, you're back!" Jared picked Lana up and asked, "What are you doing?" "Nolan is chatting with Godpa," Lana said, pointing to the computer screen. Nicole's gaze followed Lana's finger, and when she saw Nolan, she asked, "Leo is online?" "Yeah, Godpa said he is pretty free today and that he misses us, so he sent us a message." Nolan stated. "He also said he's busy over there and might not be able to come back anytime soon."

Mia found a seat in front of Zion. “You still want me. You will have to come and get me.” Mia said with a cold tone. “We will meet again. This isn’t over yet.” Zion lets out a screech and the Lothian women that survived rushed back to behind the borderline, disappearing into the mist. “Until we meet again Luna.” Zion turns around and disappears as well.

Lane International – 3:33 PM Rain lashed against the windows of Lane International's headquarters, transforming the Manhattan skyline into a smeared watercolor of grays and silvers. I'd been in back-to-back meetings since leaving the courtroom, fielding calls from investors concerned about the media coverage of this morning's revelation. Despite the personal victory, stock prices had dipped three percent on news that Lane International's CEO had been involved in a melodramatic custody battle with the CEO of Coleman Corp.

The Following Night. 10PM. A Street Upstate New York, Off Campus Grounds. LILY. She tightened her grip on the steering wheel as the red Chevrolet Colorado rolled slowly through the quiet street, the dim streetlights casting long shadows across the road. Megan sat beside her, shifting slightly in her seat, her eyes flicking from the windshield to the empty sidewalks outside. The low hum of the engine was the only sound between them until Lily eased her foot off the pedal and pulled to a stop at the corner.

The following afternoon, I met Lucien Laurent at the primary access road overlooking the Nova Horizon Development Zone. The air was thick with the scent of overturned earth, diesel exhaust, and dry dust whipping off the unpaved access tracks. Elara had driven me to the site in our rented black SUV, navigating the rutted construction paths with practiced, stoic ease.

“The mayor had appointed Lawrence Linus as president to take over command of the taskforce in my place. Lawrence promised to get rid of every shifter here in the city within a week. We shall wait to see how he intends to do this.” The sky was a fair maiden with blue brocade skirts that were embellished with shimmering whorls of chalk-white wisps and enshrouding in a gold lace overskirt made of gauzy sunlight. And below it, a Jetta made its way along the lonely stretch of a long-forgotten highway, surrounded by huge towering oaks which had their incredibly long branches stretched into the road, shading the vehicle from the stabbing glare of the unforgiving sun. Landry drove down the lonely hi
