xtra One -Years Later- Khloe Novak "When I took over as the CEO, after my father who had started the Novak Industries, it wasn't even close to being a billion dollar company, and everyone knew it as N.H.I; Novak Holdings international," Liam told the audience as he stood at the podium. Over 200 guests; employees of Novak Industries, business associates, friends and family members, sat at the tables that were spread around the huge ball room where the event was taking place.

"Depriving me of sucrose is technically a hindrance to the progression of human technology." Nova snorted, trying not to laugh. "You sound exactly like your father." Julian sighed heavily for a four-year-old. "So, you won't assist me in this covert operation?" "I didn't say that," Nova grinned, tossing her apple core into the compost bin. She hopped off the counter, brushing off her jeans. "Grandpa Jackson is sailing around the Mediterranean. Mom is resting. It's way too quiet around here today. A little covert operation is exactly what I need to cure my boredom."

I asked, arching my brow. Nova shrugged. “I don’t know. I haven’t met him. I just got a call saying that you were in the hospital and just a brief explanation.” She heaved a sigh. “But when I got here, I didn’t see him. All I had was his name and all I’ve been doing since I was waiting for you to wake up was googling him. The guy is a fucking billionaire, Meadow.” Her eyes were wide with wonder as she shook her head. “I know,” I muttered.

category. "My name is Nova," I said, avoiding eye contact by staring down at the yacht's polished teak deck. "I'm twenty years old. I study computer science at Boston University, developing projects on cybersecurity and software engineering, but I also work part-time in graphic design. In other words, I am a completely harmless civilian. My parents live in America. I only came to Crete to visit my aunt and uncle for summer vacation. That is the entirety of the situation." As Matteo threw his jacket back over his own shoulders, he didn't take his dark eyes off me for a single second. A low, rumbling sound vibrated from his throat.

I answer the phone immediately saying the code we came up with so he knows to speak freely “She turns 18 tomorrow she will find her mate at midnight tonight after her first shift don’t do anything yet but keep her close grovel apologize whatever it takes just keep her close” and with that he hangs up leaving my head swimming even more and the anger even more noticeable. The door bell rings and Kelly answers it calling out food and Shannon the omega is here so I put on my best performance and get to work. Nova’s POV

PRESENT Nova The wind was cold, but I didn't move. I just stood on the balcony, leaning against the cold glass railing of my exclusive high-rise, watching the black ink of the night sky slowly bleed into a metallic gray. The glass of wine in my hand was long gone, the condensation leaving rings on the polished stone railing. I was Nova Vale, thirty years old, divorced, and standing on Billionaire's Row, exactly where Killian’s best friend always dreamed of being but could never afford.

Even Molly Vale, the one who had driven me to break up with him and leave, had only held his interest for a few days. Soon, he thought all the women were boring and found himself thinking about me again. Sure, he'd gotten tired of me sometimes after eight years together. But I was like the air he breathed, and he only realized how essential it was after it was gone. Caesar held the repaired wedding dress, unconsciously smiling. When I came back, he would officially propose to me! He paid and was leaving when his phone suddenly started buzzing. "Norton?" "Caesar, there's something I need to tell you. I don't know if it's true, but everyone's saying they spotted Miranda in Snowcall."

I just want to know who he is. “You think? You need to tell me everything you know about that night-“ “Oh crap, my job. It’s been over a week,” I say, the sudden terror consuming me. I’m not even considered about being immortal, but I am concerned about losing the new job promotion that I was meant to start over a week ago. “I was meant to start my new position and now Noah is going to fire me.” Cian looks shocked that it’s even at the forefront of my mind right now, but I’m not going to pretend like I wasn’t riding on that promotion. “Abella, none of that matters anymore. You belong here, in the immortal realm.”

she asks offering her hand for me to shake “You are correct” I say shaking her hand and frowning a little at Leanna who tries to step closer to inspect the woman in front of me. “I’m Nova, I am brand new and I have to register and I wont lie, I’ve been a little sheltered until now, so this is a lot!” I offer a small laugh in an attempt to hide that I may have just overshared with a stranger. But something about the short, slim girl with curly hair in front of me makes me feel comfortable.

the AI responds just before a brief pause. “Results indicate that the license plate number is one belonging to a Selena Stone. According to her Ohio driver’s license she is a twenty-nine-year-old African American female, black hair, brown eyes, six feet tall one hundred ninety-five pounds her birthday is November twelfth nineteen ninety-one, would you like me to continue?” the system blurts out in a calculating tone. “Mecca where is she located now?” I ask the AI all to desperate to find her. Selena, that was her name it was a kind sweet name it suited her.
