I found him in the attic sitting on one of the seats that the room provided. I sank into the seat next to his and relaxed in it. The attic had glass walls, the lights were off. The moon lit up the room dimly but it was enough for now. He turned when I sat next to him and looked at me with intense eyes. He looked at me like a blind man seeing the sun for the first time, like I was a reward handed to him on a silver platter.

"It's not that easy! I can't just go blam and take out Grocer Outlet. What would that even do? Kill some people? That won't kill their boss. That won't take out the darkness!" He seemed… uncomfortable. As if he didn’t know what to say or how to react. And that only made things worse for me. His discomfort was an answer to my doubts. Bright already had a new conquest. "WHAT ARE you doing? Sit still," Bright ordered me, clicking on a button she had in her pocket. I yelled, biting my lower lip at what she had just done. Before we came out of the stall, Bright managed to slip in something from inside of me. "B-Bright," I called out to her, holding onto the hem of her dress. I couldn't explain the feeling inside of me as I felt the device stir my insides. "Quiet, Queen," she responded, and immediately pushed the wheelchair towards the lounge of the mall.

"I'm just kidding. You know I'll do anything for you, right? You can do anything you want with me as long as it doesn't involve another woman.. or gay." I stand, rolling my shoulders again, trying to shake off the tension. “You’re thinking too much. I just find him… interesting.” That’s the truth. Bright isn’t like the others. He’s sharp, reckless, stubborn as hell. And somehow, he’s gotten under Cole’s skin in a way no one else ever has. That alone makes him valuable. But I don’t say any of that. Instead, I turn back to the maid, my smirk returning. “Now, are you just here to talk, or are you here for something else?”

To my dismay, there is not a window washer on shift right now. I sigh and pick up my phone, seeing that there wasn’t a scratch. I unlock it and see that everyone in my contacts has texted me, extending their congratulations. I even got some money from various corporations as a wedding gift. Of course, I wouldn’t give it back if they are congratulating me so generously. Maybe getting married isn’t too bad. A knock on the door makes me look up from my phone, and I check the time, seeing that it is still early. No one should be here yet. I cross the room and open the door, revealing my brother with a plate of waffles in his hands.
