She pulled a small, silver drive from her own pocket and pressed it into Verina’s hand. "The Archon is already in the system, but he’s blind," the double whispered, her voice a chilling clone of Verina’s. "You have ten seconds before the autodestruct wipes this tomb off the map. Use the drive, kill the Archon’s access point, and you’ll be free. But be careful, Verina. Once the drive is used, your brain will have no host for the Archive anymore. You won't just lose the secrets. You’ll lose every memory you’ve ever had of him."

I asked my driver to drop Tessa at home. Mr. Everhart offered to have my driver take me home, but I smiled and shook my head. “No. Tonight, I’m driving myself.” He frowned, ready to object, but I cut in smoothly, “I’ll be fine. Truly.” His jaw worked in thought before he relented, signaling two guards to trail behind me in their car until I got home safe. I got into my new car and drove ahead. The drive was pure intoxication. It can be driven in auto mode, or driver mode. I can just relax, insert a destination and go without needing a driver.

NOVA I had just driven past the borders of the Moon Blade Pack. Yes, I was driving. Somewhere in the middle of my mission to wipe Felix off my mind, I decided to become a decent driver. I became the owner of a cute silver Beetle, and this sweetie turned out to be kind enough to take me wherever I wanted. I was getting closer to Grand Lunaville, and my head started to spin. I pulled over and stopped, struggling to catch my breath. An unknown force pressured my chest, and I could swear I felt Felix's rosemary and lime scent wrapping around me.

“I don’t know yet. But whatever is on this drive… it’s important. Everything we’ve been fighting for might be here.” Nathan’s eyes met hers. There was a sharp edge to his gaze — protective, calculating, and fiercely determined. “Whatever it is, we need to be careful. Lucas, Eva… and the figure from my past — they won’t stop. They’ve been patient, watching, waiting for the perfect moment. This drive…” He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in. “…it could make all the difference. Or destroy us.” Alina plugged the drive into the laptop she had brought with her. The screen flickered to life, revealing a complex folder structure — hundreds of files, encrypted codes, and hidden documents.

Seated, the car accelerates down the driveway as I ask, “What was Nova’s response?” “He’s scouting the area and awaiting our arrival” He responds and I say no further, patiently holding onto my calm countenance barely by the tips of my fingers. It’s a long drive there and as the time ticks on, it’s becoming torture to keep my wolf’s rampage restrained and not let the beast out of its cage. ~

Hannah’s POV The drive back home felt nothing like the drive there. When Adam pulled out of Enders Block, neither of us said a word for several minutes. The black flash drive sat between us in the cup holder like it had its own weight, like it was watching us. The streetlights slid over the windshield in dull orange streaks, and I kept rubbing my palms against my thighs because they wouldn’t stop sweating. “You okay?” Adam finally asked, his eyes still on the road.

Noah stood completely still in the center of the sitting room, his right hand pressed deep into his empty jacket pocket. The soft crackle of the fireplace was the only sound in the room. Outside, the night rain had turned into a steady, quiet drizzle against the window glass. Everything looked calm, safe, and warm. But inside Noah’s chest, his heart was pounding like a heavy drum. He retraced every single step in his head. Down in the dark pump room, Gabriel had given him the black drive. Noah had slipped it into his right jacket pocket. He had walked through the long drainage pipe, met Eleanor, climbed the stone stairs, and carried the drive up into this very room.

Back in the physical world, Novel’s body collapsed beside Kitty, as he coughed up a splash of blood before slipping into complete unconsciousness. Sarah looked at the files. "The Drive's purpose," she said, "was to produce hybrid subjects by reshaping resonance pathways. At low output, it does that. At sustained high output—" She stopped. Started again. "The Council's technical documentation describes a theoretical state they called the Origin Threshold. The point at which the Drive's resonance output stops being a fabrication tool and becomes an anchor." She looked at Xander. "An anchor for what, the documentation doesn't specify directly, but the frequency characteristics it describes match Void-tether architecture." Nobody said anything for a moment.
